This is so true. One of the senators said that this doesn't happen anywhere else. They like their guns more than the children of others. It is sad. There will of course be thoughts and prayers and no action.
Around 7,000 US troops have been killed in Afghanistan and Iraq since 2001.
How long will it be before this stops being news and it is just an accepted part of American culture that a number of dead children each year is necessary to ensure the freedoms of the wider population?
Civilised western society my arse.
I used to think the whole situation would get sorted by now a few years back, but the more this comedy goes on the more I thing it will become more entrenched.
I think in a few years open carry will just become common place.
19 year old with an AR15 and several magazines. Managed to escape by merging with the students fleeing, but was arrested an hour later.

Of course thats nothign to do with the $30m that came from the NRA into his election fund, that may have come through russian sources.
This is not the time to bring up gun control. Wait at least a week.
"Since 2013, there have been nearly 300 school shootings in America — an average of about one a week."

Ah let's do nothing about it then.
Football coach Aaron Feis was seriously injured as he tried to protect the students, reports say he put himself in the way of the shooter to save students
There was an article recently about someone who got shot by a crazy gunman 9in Vegas I think). They were virtually bankrupted because their health/employer funding dried up before they were able to go back to work.what a nutter I hope he has good health insurance.
The POTUS' comments already looking like blame shifting and political manoeuvering.
Yep, it was commented on during their election but the NRA is a massively powerful body. They should be ashamed.$30m to his election fund from the NRA. The list of senators taking donations from the NRA is here: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/10/04/opinion/thoughts-prayers-nra-funding-senators.html
The tread or the killing? If anything it's getting boring now.
