Hi all

I have had my first DSLR a few months and think I am getting to grips with it.
I went on a trip to Lakes recently and managed to take some cracking landscape pics. When I returned I noticed a feint black line at top of pics, most noticable with sky at the top. Assuming it to be a hair or dust I used a home cleaning kit. It moved the main problem but seemed to move other bits of what I imagine is dust around.
I took it to a local Camera shop and they said they could sort it, upon my collection 3 days later they have said they cant sort it and again they just seemed to be moving dust around. They have given advice on where to send it but I have found what appears to be a reputable company online and sent my camera to them to fix. I'm a bit concerned it might be something more serious with the sensor and may cost a fortune to repair. Anyone got any experience with this and any advice how I can avoid it happening again if I do get it sorted.
Thanks

Care to post a pic so we can see the problem?

The original problem has been removed but there just appears to be dust particles on pics now. Have sent camera off to be repaired now so have nothing to show at present

So are you saying the camera shop couldnt clean the dust off or the black line at the top?

If a camera shop cant clean a sensor then God help us all.

Is it a reputable repair centre or just a high street shop with no technical expertise maybe? Mind you if they charged for it, you'd expect some confidence in being sucessful.

It was LCE. They did have a good go and were confident they could sort it but alas not. Didn't charge me

No it's pretty sparse for shops that provide this service I have discovered.
I have sent my camera to H Lehmann LTD in Stoke On Trent so fingers crossed they can sort it
