weekly Seaodyssey's 52 in 2023 Week 52 Pick of 2023 Completed

Lovely! I'm always taking shots with my phone when we fly. I absolutely love looking out of the window at what's below!

Lovely light on the alps. I love flying over mountains.

Really nice picture, cameras on phones have certainly improved over the last few years

I was lucky, thick cloud when I took off and thick cloud later till landing at Birmingham.

So do I, well over the mountains. :D

Its capable of 64mp, not sure what res the shot was.
That's a good one Pete.
Thanks Bill

Ta to you all for taking the time to look and comment. Not some I get to do these days with SWMBO trying to cut down screen time.

For Fragile, this week 19 Theme.

Alliums, nice and bright.

More on theme, but a quick shot, I had a quick go at procapture on my new to me camera, but did not get the topple caught, must have missed some settings somewhere, still very slowly getting used to it.

I too like both shots but the way the flowers stand out from the background and the colour of them swings it for me.

Your alliums are way ahead of mine. They are a lovely colour

Two great images Pete. You've definitely chosen the right one.

Either one for fragile as flowers are fragile things, liking the Jenga one.
Thanks Dave

Thanks Martin, it's all the rain we have had here.

Thank you Bill.
Lovely colours of the Alliums. Nicely done for fragile.
Ta Pete
Lovely colour, composition and great dof.
Thank you Helen

Thanks for taking your time to comment. Busy with some DIY stuff at the moment, never have enough time since I retired.

I really like the way you have framed/composed this Pete, very clever.

As Roger says good framing and you've not lifted the shadows too much to give it depth.

I ilke that Pete and the inclusion of the banner makes it work really well for the theme.
Just as well they put the banner up, Thanks Pete
Good catch Pete.
Thanks a lot Bill.

All comments gratefully received.

I like the dof which blurs the background slightly but it's still recognisable. That's a lovely flower.

Lovely garden, nice to see a wider view, temptation is to zoom in and blur the background too, nice to have plenty in focus.

What a lovely flower and your image does it justice.

Good take on the theme, reminds me of 1976 (and 2022!).

Theme ticked nicely :)

Irregular is great - like a natures crazy paving! Looks good framed by the grass all around

That does the trick Pete, an irregular pattern with an irregular scattering of grass...

Week 23 Rubbish

It could have been better with out the goods train in the way.
I was set up to take a photo of the Flying Scotman going under a footbridge in MK this morning, when a thundering great goods train came the other way, this was the least rubbish shot.

The FSM was also a bit early so was not expecting it for another minute or two.
I might have used a faster shutter speed and higher ISO as well.

Thank you
Pete

Hahaha - been there Pete! In fact I VERY nearly got scuppered by a Class 350 at Stafford yesterday when waiting to shoot 40145! There was about 15 seconds in it!

Ta Jim, This is a weird year, cracking soil but has not been at all warm so far, apart from yesterday that is, just over 30c here
Theme ticked nicely :)
Thanks Dave
Yup, that certainly works
(y) Thanks Paul
Nicely done
Cheers Alan.
Good take on theme and point of view leads into the pic.
Thanks Pete
Cracking irregular image pardon the pun, a good shot.
Te he he, Thanks Dave

Great idea for the theme. I don't know why the dry cracked earth always fascinates me, but it does.
Some would say small minds:rolleyes:, but there is something to think about it. We have a lot of clay around here and it has dried out as not to much rain recently.

Thank you all for taking time to comment.

The rubbish shot could have worked out a bit better, what’s this about a train being early though?

Might be a rubbish shot but I find it kind of appealing...
