The problem, the unruly kids. It's what put me off becoming a teacher, despite a chemistry degree.
The country can only support a limited number of specialised jobs.
Scenario.
A vet leaves Uni "with honors"
Fails to find a position, or indeed has the funds to start his / her own practice.
While they were studying, they worked in a bar.
So with that experience behind them, they secure a bar person's position.
They may or may not become management but become comfortable with their surroundings.
After a few years of trying to secure one of the very limited vet positions, and failing,
they stay with what they also know.
Unfortunately each generation only produces a few of these Entrepreneurs.
Everyone would love to be Richard BransonSteve Jobs(well OK maybe not him) or Bill Gates.
But these guys have (had) something special, if we all knew what that was, we would all be doing it.
Best primary and secondary education is apparently in scandinavian countries and UK is not doing too well in the league tables up until the higher education. It is also widely known that universities have to re-educate students some A-levels basics in year 1 of their undergraduate degrees. Maths and other scientific subjects are the prime examples here. I'd cut the time wasting media studies (this is not proper arts subject anyway) and sort out the maths, physics, economy, chemistry as a priority. I know, there aren't enough good teachers, but there are certainly plenty of university graduates, so what is the problem then?!
All I was saying was, however good you are at school / higher education, unfortyunaly, its not always possibleI don't think I agree here entirely. You are talking about someone failing in their career path due to whatever reason. Does it mean they shouldn't have tried and just accept job at the bar from the day they left the school? Does it mean they haven't fully exploited the job market, where a job could be in a different city for example? Is the government not doing enough? And in fact with a university degree they would be equipped well enough to apply for a managerial role in offices, etc.
I'm not knocking the "smaller" entrepreneur by any means,I don't think a definition of successful enterprise must be synonymous with Richard Branson. There are many smaller businesses that are doing well and are creating jobs and paying taxes to the budget. Have a look for your local business meetings and chat to some people - it can be a real eye opener.

Slag off Glasgow time again? Wondered how long it would be until you resorted to this.....and your pal ST4 chips in with a "like" as well. ClassicI am sure you would do a great job in Govan publicIt may need a special vest for a start but you'd get used to it eventually.

So would you suggest he works in Birmingham Park View school instead? That would involve a bit of a commute there...
What's an st4?
Stop trolling. The question was not directed at you.An attention seeker
Were you doing 138 on your ST4?
Why don't you ask your pal ST4 what the relevance is. He keeps bringing it up.Actually how is this relevant to this thread? Start a new one maybe if it is so vital.![]()
Ducati ST4. Thought that's maybe where you're name came from.What's an st4?
Name comes from my initials and the 4 is the sum of my day and month of birth.Ducati ST4. Thought that's maybe where you're name came from.

If dibble let me do 138mph I'd manage it as a daily commute. However we must think of the children and stop people going 138mph as all 138mph drivers are child murders in Britain as our laws of physics are different to the German law of physics. Drivers who go 138mph are total scum and dibble is write to try and catch them rather than the wonderful street muggers who only became street muggers as their teachers outed them for the fcuktards they are and if they wrote letters about how exams don't matter all the fcuktards would all be doctors, dentists, lawyers and dibble. Telling kids even if they aren't good at something that they are brilliant will mean we will have a nation of dibble, lawyers doctors and dentists. Hence this school is progressive and everyone who leaves it will have the pick of these honerous professions.
Plus Birmingham is almost a big a dump as Glasgow. I don't know which one I'd drive 137 or 139 to get away from so let's just leave it as 138 each way
The reason I became a scumbag is because my teacher told me I couldn't draw when I couldn't and I should try harder at maths and stop mucking around in French is the only reason I have a criminal record for being scum as if I had been told I was the next brandson I totally would have gone no more than 69mph...I'd think of the children.

Thanks for clarifying that, due to your, mainly, asinine posts, I always believed the 4 related to your IQ.Name comes from my initials and the 4 is the sum of my day and month of birth.
So it appears the letter was plagiarised from an American blog. I was wondering about certain americanisation in the letter like 'neat'.
Is that teaching children it's ok to cut and paste rather than write your own thoughts?
