Really really nice Sarah. I wish I had the time, patience and skill to get lighting like that.
 
Oh, that is truly beautiful - you are so great at these! Amazing composition - that great big stem and flower coming out of what looks like (or is) such a tiny jar. LOVE THIS.

Even chopping that out altogether looks fantastic.

Did I say I love this already??? :)

Thanks Trace, I really enjoy floral still life work. Frustrating at times when you can't get the flowers to look how you want them, but enjoyable :)

Thanks Sarah, I love old botanical prints & try to get that kind of detail. Not so clever as hubby, as he can draw them.

Thanks Toni, more paper from the stationers, cream this time, but with some of the more yellow tones taking down a tad in PS.

Thank you, I am lucky with the time as I only work part time & no children at home or dogs any more :) Lighting is just daylight again, but the conservatory on a cloudy day acts like a lightbox.

27th March 2013

Went down the river to feed the swans after work, but liked the seagulls who were flying round catching the bread I was throwing for them.
I've been doing a bit of playing round with processing over the past few days, so added a vintage feel to get rid of the modern buildings in the background as much as possible. Not the sort of processing I'd normally go for, but another thing I want to use this project for is to try things that are normally outside what I do.

I like that it! It is different for your style but processing really suits it!

I really love the garlic tho.. Again the detail is amazing :thumbs:
 
Very nicely processed - it's good to experiment - not usually a fan of vignetting - but it works very well here.

Thanks Sarah, I'm not either, or at least of pale vingetting, but it did work on this, just trying out some more software that I had a free upgrade to.
 
The garlic is really nicely shot, great detail and well composed - who'd know you (one) could get such a good photo of something like that! :thumbs:

I like the lok and the processing on the gull as well!

18th March - lovely shot, great composition too
19th March - great tulip shot, colours work great against the background
20th March - lovely shot of the egg, great idea and well balanced :)
21st March - the cloudy sky works well against the church, nice sharp detail too
22nd March - great mono shot and can see that on the wall of a coffee shop
23rd March - well spotted :D, certainly a strange thing to put on the side of your house
24th March - a simple but well executed shot, and great detail
25th March - well lit and comp spot on
26th March - garlic, my fave for cooking with, love the look of the shot, works well
27th March - really love the processing of this shot, works wonderfully

Thanks Jake, the processing is really just to get rid of:
(a) the big coloured warehouses in the background (looks really horrible)
(b) the foul muddy waterlogged weedy area & manky trees, which all make the original shot horrible, well apart from the bird, which I liked :)

Those pesky dinosaurs! And to think I used to worry about those reports that you're only ever about 10 feet (or whatever) away from a rat in London :lol: At least he's chained! Great one, Sarah! :)

Thanks All. Trace, they rat would enjoy it, they have a dinosaur crazy golf course outside as well.

I'm curious as to why you didn't just nick his shot! :naughty::lol::lol:

Great photo, regardless - fantastic sky and love it behind those trees! :)
