weekly *Sarah* 2012 52 week challenge. Yippee I made it!!

Love the take on the hedgehog, excellent pictures.

I love the Love Hearts & honey pictures too

Thank you!

Great take on the theme Sarah, love both shots.
love the detail in the 2nd shot.

Thanks!

Very nice shot for secure, love the first shot :)

Thank you Mike!

Prefer the first as you can see what it is and how it fits in with the theme, the second is possibly a better technical shot.

Both good images though.

Thank you, the second was possibly the easiest to take!:)

I've put a couple more shots of Willow onto flickr taken last year if you're interested showing more of her face and with a different background. I've used a link so as not to confuse the ones used for the theme!

Really great take on this weeks theme Sarah, I have never seen a hedgehog photographed from that angle (keeping an eye out). The macro shot is great too I didn't realise how sharps those spines were !

awww cute pic alert - oops - I mean, very mean secure type thing  yep love this one, great idea, well executed

I'm sorry, I think I've missed your thread so far.
I love your sigh alarm clock. Really good motion blur on the hammer and not too much of the clock showing. Lovely framing.
Of your sweet images, they're all good but I just love the colour, the patterns and the way the honey is dripping off the honeycomb. Its a really luscious picture.
Both your hedgehog pics are nice. I too prefer the one where his nose is peeking through. Very nice.

Thanks stephen, its easy to miss threads i keep finding ones I've missed as well!:)

I went to the National Coal Mining museum on a very cold Saturday morning with Peter (Delta Skies). I have struggled this week due to illness and have been out of it since then.:(

This picture was taken inside the steam winding room there. As you can tell its not my best work this week but until my eyes, brain and the rest of my body decide to work together this is all you're getting!! When things improve I'll have a go at editing them but I don't think it will be this week!

I will try and catch up later this week and comment on all your threads!
Thanks!

These cans of oil kept the wheels of industry turning!!

Like the idea Sarah, oiling the wheels of industry

Hope you are feeling better soon

Hi, there, I feel your pain...I've felt the same for a week or so....:gag:

NCM is a cracking place. We've been there a few times and I really like the guided tours.

Your photograph fits the theme well. The composition is fine, I suspect it was quite a large machine.

My main issue is the the shadow centre right, very little detail.

Anyway, nice one for submitting early and get well soon...

Regards.

I agree, I really like the charismatic oil cans pointing the same way and also the brass work. It's definitely got that old industrial feel to it. I'm sorry you're a little off colour this week I hope you feel better very soon.:)

HI Sarah....hope you're feeling better now :)

Love the cute li'l hedgehog...gorgeous & right on theme...the macro of the spines is fab

Industry....spot on theme & lovely colors....I'd imagine it must have been quite hard to get a shot showing just the bit you wanted without losing the feel for what it was ?

Roll on week 7

Love your industry shot, but then, I love all machines :)

Hi Sarah, definately hope you're feeling better we have an holiday to go on

I like the composition of this and its bang on theme, it has some warmth to it

Really like this I think it works every way love the colours and the detail in the shadows, spot on :clap:

I think the best bit for me is the big oil can with all it's dents great pic and bang on theme

Thanks for all your comments, I'm slowly getting back to normal - whatever that is!, just glad I got this one in quickly this week!

Really nice colours and like the items in the this one. The oil can really draws me in.

Good stuff to say you are/was feeling ill. Are you all better?

Hi Sarah. I really like this shot, there's just enough colour to be interesting but not so much to distract!

I hope you're feeling better soon, a lot of us have been struck down lately.

Thank you for your comments, I am feeling better but not 100% this bug is horrible and has hit our school hard! It seems I have now shared it with Peter!!

Thats a good image and right on theme. The only niggle I have is i want to see more of the green thing on top. Not sure if it would have been possible or if it would have improved the shot

Hi Sarah
Sorry you have not been well. Industry shot is good and probably has even more potential when you get the time to edit - lot of patina and grainy detail in the lower half

Hi Alan and Phil, Thank you, I'm feeling better everyday and can hopefully start to catch up on everybodies pics now! I can't remember if I have a pic showing more of the green but will look over the next couple of days otherwise it's a good excuse to go back and take some more. if you get chance its a good day out and free unless you want to go underground!!

Hi Sarah

A real nice straight composition, wondering what the top green bits are, shame the pipe and them are clipped (or where they too tall??) anyway, the main focus, the oil cans are excellent and really make the shot

Sorry to hear your been feeling ill.... no i'm not really, pull your self together :D

Hi Sarah,

Loving all your pictures so far, like the way you see things. My favs are direction, that is just a great image. The Blackpool rock stands out because of the vibrant colours and the love hearts are also very good and then there's your alarm clock shot..... I wish I could say what it is I like about them, but not got the experience yet. However, my gut reaction to your photos has been they are good...very good. I think I'm drawn to minimalist work, not too minimalist but the idea that less is more ..like in your alarm clock shot, ooooh now I'm starting to waffle!

Well done.

Carol

I love the hedgehog shots! The detail in #2 is superb.
Industry looks like it could have been an old advert for oil! Great feel to the picture but as DK mentioned it's a shame the top is clipped.

They don't build them like that now..

I really like that battered oil can, looks like it's seen some action over the years. Also like the colours and lighting but agree it's a shame that the top is cropped.

Good work, get well soon :)

That's a wonderful shot. OK so arguably it was posed for you, being a museum, but you've captured it beautifully.

Lovely. Great big old nuts on the machine and the traditional oil cans. Perfect.

Thank you for all your comments, I'm feeling much better and have just returned from a week in Pembrokeshire so I'm a bit late posting this week!

I agree about the industry pic looking cropped I seem to remember there was a big beam going through the room and that that it made it difficult to include more. I am hoping to go back soon now that I'm feeling better and will try to retake it!

Very nice shot Sarah. Love the dented oil can.

Hi Sarah, nice shot for industry, I like it. Hope your feeling better.

Thank you all for your great comments. I've just returned from a week away in Pembrokeshire so will hopefully catch up with everyones threads over the next few days!

A little late as we have just got back from a week in Pembrokeshire. I had thought about taking a pic of tree roots, Liz volunteered her hair roots for me to photoograph but I ended up spotting this seaweed clinging to a rock with its roots exposed.

I'm now going to try and catch up on everyones threads and take this weeks one!

Welcome back Sarah, a nice take on the theme that and certainly a different variety of root than I have seen. Very nice :)
