samyang 8mm fisheye

Its quite straight forward to use. Because the field of view is so wide you're never that far off focus (especially stopped down on aperture) so manual focussing is simple.

some great shots there charlatan. i take the odd shot with it at weddings

I've owned the Rokinon branded lens for some time now and use it regularly on both my Nikon D300 and Canon 350D & 550D cameras. Focusing is generally not and issue. Just set the focus at approx. 10 ft and the lens opening at f8. Everything will be in focus except for extreme closeups where the lens is almost on top of the object. In that case set the focus at 1 foot. It's a great lens.

Here's a photo of a friend of mine who is into Corvair cars. If he sees this one I'll probably have to run fast !! But what the heck.

Thanks for this matey.

Iv just brought one off mike's photos (eBay) does anyone have one? If so what are your thoughts on them?

Tony.

Bought ;)

Great lens however one thing to look out for is that it tends to underexpose by about 1.5 stops on my D7000.

So if you're using anything but full manual you might need to set it up to overexpose a bit.
