I actually really like today's one. Great sense of perspective. It also shows the closing down sale at HMV (very topical as a documentary style shot). There's interest added by the lady in the foreground (although I wish you hadn't cropped her feet) and then there's that crazy awning that leaps from one side of the street to the other (so it has great architectural structure). A winner all round really
If I were to suggest some improvements, I'd maybe try from a slightly lower angle (capturing more of that awning) and also with a bit softer light. Either way I think you need to head back to that location![]()
Hey Sam, a little catch up needed here....
Great mono on the church doors, really works well. Nice homeward bound shot, love the processing on that shot.
As with others not sure about Day 59 hun, but nice shot of the church wall, and love the childhood toys....great composition and lighting.
Love the Ermintrude shot, think it really works well, and yesterday's shot could one day act as a reminder of what high streets used to look like.
)Sam Frustration comes to us all whilst doing a 365 challenge but we overcome it by doing some shots that we are not sure about !!!
Well I think day 63 works quite well , maybe a monochrome version perhaps !!
Chin up young lady !!
Sam i am with you on the frustration... alot of my shots recently i have had to force myself to do... the inclination to set anything up has just done a runner, so i know how you feel...
But!........... i am with Tim here i really like it, capturing high streets and towns lately is quite a good idea, look back in a couple of years and it's quite possible it will all be different!....
Good one!... don't give up go buy chocolate instead!![]()
Not intending to give up yet, though - too stubborn for that (and mostly enjoying it too much to). Thank you for your comments about the photo! I do that as well Sam, take a couple of just in case shots - they have been used now and again![]()
But then, being the nosy cow that I am, I like to see other peoples' High Streets and things![]()
Glad you like the photo Sarah! Couple of nice candids Sam![]()
I'd say really well done on getting out and doing some street photography. I have a real mental block with this one & feel too conspicuous, yet used to be happy to sit by a dual carriageway in a deckchair with a flask of tea photographing bike races with car drivers & passengers looking at me as if I was a nutter.

Every time anyone actually looks at me, i get my head down and move on, but I suppose I will feel more confident the more I do....it's also never been a real interest or passion for me, so I wouldn't normally take photos like that although I am racking up a few now (mainly through having few options) and might grow to enjoy it more over time. Yep, I like it too. Kinda like a cloth rather than brickwork. Works for me, well spotted![]()

Is a nice abstract! Something you have an eye for! Nicely done!
Some wonderful stuff since I last called in, a real nice variety, I love the British Waterways photoI can see there is some more that could be had from that location
![]()
oooh yes, I like that one too - I'm off into town today, so hoping to come back with at least something to show![]()
That is a good abstract, well spotted.
Oooh me like that!!![]()

Sounds like a **** day Sam, but I like the image. Petrol was that price round here last week, but it's just dropped by 2p!!!! WOW a whole 2p![]()
Pleased you like the photo! Love the tones in it, very nicely processed.
Petrol is very nearly the same price here now we're at about 1.53 a litre. It's more than doubled in 5 yearsMy money really doesn't go very far these days
![]()
The cost of living is just getting ridiculous and having permanent grey days makes it all the more depressing!:bang:
Oh ffs!!!!

I like the flower shot Sam! Nicely done!
Petrol is 136.7p/l here. Still costs me around £70 a week. Stupid thirsty big petrol engines! Driving round town getting under 30mpg (I'm not a boy racer) does make a hell of a dent in my pitiful £7.50ph wage.
You'll just all have to come and visit me for the weekend, we are forecast good - can't wait![]()

Thanks, Jake!
I don't remember ever seeing petrol at anything other than X.9p so the .7 must be a regional thing?
I only work about 15 miles away but it's on roads where people drive like they are in town and I can't get an even run so it sucks petrol![]()

Like it Sam! May have been tempted to crop the flowers from the right though!

Works better for me!![]()
Yep, crop is better - I love primulas![]()
Nice shot Sam and the cropped version is my preference
Yep, crop works and I like primulas as well, they look so bright, even in this s*h*1*t weather we are having.

Like the brick abstract - well spotted!
I'd have been tempted to straighten shot 65 so the bottom edge of the table they are sat on went straight across the frame.
I also prefer the primrose crop shot, but would have liked to have seen you lying down on the muddy damp ground to get to the flowers level![]()
Day 64...now that's a proper game of Jenga....lol....hardcore with real bricks.
Day 65 is a lovely little shot, well taken considering our weather is a bag of s*** at the moment, and love the colours on today's shot too, the crop certainly works hun![]()
Good sp Jake, I dont think I ever had as much hair as that, now I have none:shake:
Hair is completely over-rated!
...so that's what hair looks like![]()
