Daily ~Sam~'s 365 - one day at a time

I now have yesterdays and todays ready to go....kind of forgot about yesterday as I was busy on catching up with others and excited about my mini-holiday! Luckily, I did remember to go out.........rubbish weather, not much time and a quick walk, but I've seen these windows with reflections a few times......

Today, I actually had a look around the immediate vicinity of my workplace!

It's back to the old fashioned butchers for many of us where we don't have to deal with horse meat, but might like to buy some camel, zebra, osterich or wilderbeast steaks!!

Thats different Sam, had to look close to see what is actually going on.
Nice all the same.

I was talking about yesterdays. Todays is one im not sure about.

LOL - that's OK too.

I had little time, kind of liked what I saw, shot it and, to be honest, liked the fact that it was sort of relevant to recent events. it's not a winner, but I'm OK with that!

The alternative today was an OOF flower, or a little old lady. Maybe I should have gone with the little old lady!:D

Now then, I don't dislike todays, have you tried it in mono?

Thought about it but didn't try it - will do that in the morning. Before I processed the signs were almost neon so it looked better to me!!! I'll put up an edit when I get up tomorrow! Thanks, Sarah :)

I could see you'd desaturated it - just didn't know whethter you'd tried a mono :)

I really like the stained glass window and the reflections one is a bit surreal, well spotted!

Agree the butchers one would maybe work better in mono.

That window shot is fab, love all the different reflections. Like the butchers shop as well, the mono works better for me as it takes away the distracting bright colours of the sign. They certainly do a full range though don't they!

Thanks, Sarah - I had seen that window before and it didn't work until I approached from a different angle. I think the mono does work better as well, to be honest - great suggestion by "Sarah 'I am so lucky I have so much sun' Sonriendo":lol: (thanks, Sarah! :) )

I seem to be having a bit of a crisis today involving, mainly, extreme laziness, a lack of motivation, non-existent ideas and creativity which is about as vibrant as a black hole! :bang::bang:

So....complete filler, should have worked on it more, had a vodka instead :naughty:

I held off and held off in case inspiration struck. It didn't!

Mine was a filler as well - yesterday just seemed to vanish in a flash  The butchers works better as a mono for me

Not a bad filler at all Sam, it seems nicely composed and nice DOF

Loving the bling filler Sam.. Jewellery seems a good filler and my creativity and motivation etc seem to be at an all time low........... i think we will all benefit from some decent weather!!

Also love the mono edit.. it works really well especially with the framing you have:thumbs:

Aw, thanks, Phil! :)

Thanks, T - I am not good with 'in the house' shots and fillers, certainly not as good as you and countless others - I just don't enjoy it, but at least I got one in and jewelry is a life saver  ! I agree that we will all be better once out of hibernation...after the nice weather last week, I was SO disappointed at the grey skies this weekend :dummy:

I agree about the mono, it does work better than the original, thanks! :)

After my photo the other day of the reflections in the windows at Sainsburys, I did something similar today so thought I would continue the theme (YAY, I actually left the house.....freezing cold and trying to sleet, but avoided another indoor shot!!)

Anyway.....

Another one in the University of Nottingham University Campus as it's so close!

Got this as well......the 'famous' Aspire sculpture

I just can't really appreciate it, thought I'm sure it's amazing to those with 'an eye' for that sort of thing! It kind of just sits next to the road, really! :D

I really like that Sam, it must be an odd building to work/live in. Nice colours and symetry.

Wow, they have some really cool architcture there, not sure about the giant whisk though  Love the colours, textures and reflections on the building.

The campus has a number of odd-shaped buildings - very bizzare! :D

Thanks, Sarah! I hate 'Aspire' to be honest as you say, it looks like a great big whisk sitting on a lump of concrete!

Giant whisk is very apt...:lol::lol::lol:

I do love the reflections tho that looks ace!

Yep, it really does look like a giant whisk, obviously to make you aspire to be a chef! LOL.
Love the red reflections in that window & from what I can see of the building next to the whisk it might make a good shot on its own.

I really like the butchers shop in Mono! Looks great!

Thanks, Jake, I'm happier with it as well.....don't know why it didn't occur to me to do that in the first place!

I'm not sure what it's meant to make you aspire to, to be honest! I think the students had a part in naming it and am convinced they just looked at it and thought it looked a bit like a spire!

Glad you like the reflections and the other buildings are great, but difficult to photograph given their shape and proximity to other buildings. Got a couple yesterday but haven't done anything with them yet! :)

Love that windows shot....really cute idea...and that butchers wow!!!! Great shot and love the range he has there ...nice filler shot of the jewels, that would not look out of place in a brochure, and you certainly have these window reflection shots off to a fine art :).

Aw, thank you, Simon! :) Everytime I have a bad day, I will need to run around to find a window now!:)

I don't know about anyone else, but it was a very grey, nasty day here. Went to the local church and nothing has worked to well, I can't get the angles right and the sky is blown, so went back to the door. I kind of like church doors! :)
