Daily ~Sam~'s 365 - one day at a time

A little catch up again Sam.....

The dice & dominoes shot really works well, great composition and dof, and cooks night off, after that I hope you got delivery of headache tablets ;).

Great canal shot, love how the canal winding through draws you into the shot, and shot #36 is a cracking shot, really really love the colour on the background and yet another shot I've seen in these threads that look like an official product shot, great work.

Like the close up of the key's shot, nice and crisp, and goes well against the colour of the background.

Thank god you've not given up hun, you're too bloomin' good to just run off :)

You certainly made the right choice Sam;)
The key is great;)

Now, THAT was the right answer, Phil!

There is nice colouring in the key shot, good dof - you did your best with what you had :D

Thanks, Sarah - it was a definite shoot and at least get one up deal but I am pleased you saw something you like in it! :)

Nice and sharp and you worked with what you had... lighting is good too:thumbs:

Thanks, T, it actually came out sharper than I thought it would, so that's something! :D

"I did a Ferj" Dont do that!

Loving the tones in the second :suspect: but the keys have it for me

Sorry about that, Ferj :(

it's a key to the door of ideas and inspiration you will be back fighting today Sam

Aw, thanks, Vince, that's really nice :)

Great DoF on that one Sam! :)

Thanks, Jake:)

As Vince said - the key to the door of inspiration and ideas :D Not sure about the other option though .... black holes are always a strange subject to shoot

Thanks, Carol! The black hole was high tech as always....my leggings! :D

I'm not a fan of the processing in the key shot, looks HDR like to me. Sorry, just not one for me.

Don't be sorry, it isn't a fave of mine, and I didn't take it for you, so no problem with that at all! I just knew that when I got home there would be other things to deal with and sometimes, you just have to prioritise!

Thank you so much, Simon, I really appreciate that - and I am still battling on but with slightly limited time....Just can;t wait to get OUT with the camera and do what I enjoy more!

As for 36, that's down to TV!

I dare you to try some light trails on the canal one night ;)

Soon be the weekend Sam - and you can be out of your office !

Oh and I think I spotted the odd one out.... -> it's the one you ate!

I don't think I have a 6 hour exposure on my camera, Jeff! :lol::lol:

And....the weekend! Yay! Good chance I won't have a job as of next week, so going to make the most of this one! Have to spend some of it shopping for my sister's birthday present though :shake:

Nice to see things going well Sam, I know your not totally happy with them but you've still done them well  I hope that you get your groove back soon :) :hug2:

Thanks, Matt - it's been a frustrating week or two and it has 'stifled my creative juices' a little :D I hope to get a little more time soon so won't feel that this is a chore as, generally, I'm really enjoying the 365! :)

At least your still getting your photo done! I love those things!

The sweets? They have great big bags of them in the 99p shop! :)

This statue is very close to where I work - it's hard to get a reasonable photo because of the flats in the background so need a bit of a crop or angle. The kids in the playground found it amusing! Anyway, at least I got out for a whole ELEVEN minutes!

And the real plus was a glimpse of blue sky!! YAY for Notts!!!!

11 minutes!!... woohoo!! lol

Cool capture Sam!

Hi Sam. The sweets are colourfull, no idea what they are though.
You were lucky to see a bit of blue sky in your monument shot, nothing but grey sky here this last few days.
Sorry to hear about your job worries, hopefully it wont be as bad as you think.

Sorry Sam I just see phil's comment and missed your sweets!.... Lovely dof on those!

What's happening with your job? Scary stuff!

Thanks, guys - Phil, I was so lucky with that sky - the first photos I took had grey skies and then the clouds parted for about 15 minutes and I was there for some of it!

It looks as though they may either close my division or have a massive cull, so may well be facing redundancy. Should know more after a meeting next week, but I'm not hearing much that's positive.

Love the statue. The blue skies make it!

Cheers, Jake! :)

Loving the statue and the key shot :-)

Thanks, Paul! :)

I got made redundant just before Xmas 3 years ago after 18 years in the same company. Didn't loose any sleep over it, decided to start on my own and am now in my 4th year self employed and loving it. SHould have done it years ago. Suppose what I'm saying is that there will always be opportunities around the corner if you are willing to work hard.

That works for me, I think it would also be a candidate to go back and do an ND110 photo there in the future :D

Thanks, Matt - let me know how that ND110 thing goes, will ya!!:D

Didn't get one in yesterday, so today I did one to fill the space! Slight cheat, but it's the weekend and for some, I know, days all merge together anyway! :p

And, if you'll indulge me, a quick one to say Happy Birthday to my sister who reached the grand old age of 40 yesterday - took this from the card she's getting (won't see her til Thursday)

Happy Birthday, Andi! by ~sammi~, on Flickr

The weather is bloomin' awful so didn't get out and about as I had hoped to. Had planned to either get to the graveyard or to an area I've been wanting to get to near where I work - seems to have possibilities. Sadly, they are still on my 'to do' list!

Love day 40 Sam and also Day 41 , the slight reflection is distracting for me , either clone it off or even better let see the full reflection maybe.

Like your abstract from yesterday Sam, is it a pine cone?
The reflection in todays doesnt really bother me although the subject doesnt really catch me.

By reflection, do you mean in the glass or the bit at the bottom? There is no way I am skilled enough to do anything about the glass and the bit at the bottom is not a reflection, it's a really OOF shot on more of the glass bits...I could try and get rid of that.

Thanks, Phil - yes, it's a pine cone!

Sorry you didn't like today's as much - grasping at straws for inside shots, to be honest, and I was fairly pleased with the outcome, but recognise that it isn't everyone's cup of tea :)

Hiya Sam...

Worrying time job wise, hope things get sorted out for you, and fingers crossed better for you :hug2:

Loving the biscuits shot, lit well and like the composition, and the statue you've captured well with some rare blue sky too...although I reckon you've got some stock blue sky shots and photoshopped it in ;);), as we've not had blue sky in the UK since 1986 :lol:

Day's 40 & 41 too are really good shots hun :thumbs::thumbs:.

Despite everything it's good to see you hanging in there :clap::clap:

Love the pine comes really looks good mono too!.
It can be tough shooting stuff indoors.... It's about time you tried the ............sp......

Oooh Sam I thought I'd caught up yesterday and seem to have left you out completely - so sorry :shake:

Love the odd Jazz drop - hey it's chocolate :D Always a winner for me

Lovely sky backdrop for the statue

And the shell looks good against the black - and you got something taken

Textures in the Pine cone are gorgeous and the mono processing really brings them out.

Some great shots over the past few days, sorry I've not been keeping up, but been horribly busy and not had any time. Know what you mean about not getting out!
Love the angle on the statue & like the close up of the pine cone as well.

Wow, I'm so far behind!

That last one for day 41 is wicket really like that one. The statue shot is quite a nice one too. I quite like the contrast of the dice and dominos as well (yes, that's how far I'm behind!)

Thanks for your feedback and good wishes, Simon! :)

it's funny you should say that about the sky - when I first got my camera, mark made me take a photo of the sky every time it was blue! I've never used them because I am far too impatient with that sort of stuff, but I think he has!

I like day 40! Great shot! :) You're the older sister then Sam? ;)

Thanks, Cheeky! :p

Thanks, T......and, no it isn't!! :p:D Wouldn't want Jake trying to guess my age by counting the wrinkles!

That's OK, Sarah, I didn't feel too left out! :'(:D:D

I don't think I can count that high
I'm sure you said before how old you were on T's thread.

I'm sure I didn't....no need to check or anything.....all you need to know is I am shortly going to be 21 (again):D:p
