sad news

We have had to have Dessie (our cat) put to sleep this morning, he lost control of his back feet and couldn't stand up even after vet visits. He was 15 years old and never had health problems.

sorry for the loss of your cat its been nearly a year when i lost my 2 dogue de bordeauxs within 1 month of each outher my girl 1 had a big stroke 3 vets told me no way back for her so did what was best for her and pts and 1 month later my boy dog had a hart attack and i lost him to and i can admit i cried my eyes out more on those two days than i have ever done in the 44 years i have been on this earth,so i feel your pain bud,


ps i have 2 new bordeauxs now just rember the good times

Cats so hide it till the end I find, suddenly in one week flat they go down and its just so hard to make that last decision in such a short time.

Thanks all for your thoughts they are most appreciated. Dessie and his little ways will be missed but we couldn't see him that way after he was so active, the quality of life had gone.

Its not the first pet we have had to make that terrible decision over as our pets have been dogs since 1972 and usually 3/4 at any one time but Dessie was our first cat.

Really sorry to hear that. Like many on here, I've had to make that decision for two pets in the past so I feel your pain.
It's not easy, but just remember that you did the right thing for him to stop his suffering and help him keep his dignity.

I know that it doesn't stop it being heartbreaking though :hug2:

Gutted for you Bazza, we lost our smudge a couple of years back, she was a shade over 20. Got her when my eldest was born....like losing a family member it is.
