Hopefully will have time to get mine built this weekend![]()
Still struggling to get the box open, I was supposed to be winding down for Christmas and I just seem to be getting busier.
Are you back in France or are you still in Blighty? Will you be able to make it back for the film meet in Greenwich?
Took a load of pics with mine in the woods today - hope they come out ok. Focusing on the Recesky is a bit of a challenge!
Good on ya!
I need to put another film in mine and go on the hunt for construction related shots for this challenge.
When I took the test shots, I didn't find focusing too difficult tbh.....I reckon you may fall lucky with your results seeing as the camera has an aperture of F/11 you have a little bit of lee way for focus error.
Built my camera tonight. The shutter count isn't great but I think I can fix it with some thick tape applied to the back over the sprocket hole gear.
Hope everyone eat n drunk plenty n had a merry Christmas! How's everyone getting on with the challenge? Ive just not had the chance to take mine out! Will have to get my backside into gear n get out between now n New Year!

Ran some expired Kodak Gold 400 through my camera the other day and got the results back today. Quite a quirky camera...
Just a little bump....
As there are no entries posted for this challenge yet ( me included i'm afraid although I may have a shot in camera!), do we look at extending the closing date??..............if so, then how much more time do we add??
Hello first post!
I just built one of these things after being inspired by this thread and thought it would be a bit of fun, only now i've put it all together the shutter is sticking open until i release the lever slightly, it seemed to work fine until I put the top and back on. bah.
Anyway, i'll strip it down again tonight and loosen thing up a bit, I haven't seen anywhere suggesting using any kind of lubricant on the moving parts has anyone tried this?
Cheers, Ady.

Looks to me like you will need to strip it down again, or at least enough to gain access to the shutter mech.....darned shame now you have it completed.
And I read that as 'defrost'Cheers Asha, will deforest backside into gear n get out with my Recesky!
I know I'm way behind everybody else but it's been a bit busy.
So I'm building the plastic fantastic and I have a shutter question.
My shutter opens on the up stroke of the shutter lever, is this normal?

Nope!....sounds to me like you've got the mech back to front somehow.
Wouldn't think it matters so much if it fires at about 1/100 although may feel a bit wierd when put to use.
Whoops, weve blundered here Nick.....these postings belong in the discussion thread :bang:....this thread is for entry pics only!!
Perhaps a mod would be kind enough to move them ![]()

I spotted it and moved 'em![]()
@Nick.....the lens and shuuter frustrations didn't stop you then???...good to see!....Btw is that part of your head in the top of the shot?!!!! lol

I had no idea what I was pointing the camera at and no idea whether it was in focus or not, there is another version of my 'construction' shot without my head in shot but I think it makes it a bit more amusing
Also, I have resurrected my tour of Europe, will you be around 2nd week of Feb?
Possibly this is badly off topic, but I wasn't sure it was worth another thread: saw a blog post about a Kickstarter project for a wooden DIY 120-size TLR (provide your own lens!): http://www.thephoblographer.com/201...de-of-wood-mamiya-lenses-and-a-polaroid-back/.:shrug::shrug:

Have to confess I took several "construction" shots and found myself at all sorts of physical angles and positions trying to see what I was composing in the viewer
