The 'crisis' (that I never mentioned) was more complicated than blaming any one group.

What it did though is highlight existing problems and vulnerabilities. It's much easier to ignore a leaky roof in the sunshine than in heavy rain.

I don't want to get rid of you (unless you are a freeloader :) ) and yes the British government has fecked up the policies on immigration, EU and benefits.....no doubting that but this still doesn't make UKIP a racist party nor does it make a difference that you wish to avail of our democratic benefits such as your free education and when the going get tough you will run off to another country...... and as for taking your taxes with you....even if you are earning the UK average £26K your tax and NI bill is a paltry £5365.28......

You are starting to sound irrational now. Membership of the EU is not a requirement to travel within Western Europe. British people have always been able to travel freely (with a British passport) to Italy, Greece, Spain etc without the benefit of the EU. Perhaps you didn't know that.

Of course it is. Lending is all based on trust, and the US crisis destroyed it, which then pushed over the dangerous Greek, Spanish and Irish markers. UK just about survived without a bailout, but make no mistake - we no longer have any gold reserves.

You clearly don't understand it then. You vote UKIP, pullout of EU and force anyone without UK passport or special permit leave. This is not my choice, but yours. I will not go begging the scummy government to issue me a special permit, f*** no. Millions will [have to] leave taking their average £5362.28 of taxes with them and then you can laugh. Every little helps, and it does sound very ironic if you are @ST4

P.S. Free education no longer exists. Say thank you to torries and labour to a lesser extent.

I assume the "Free education" of which you speak is university education. It was the Labour Party, with the help of their Scottish MPs who voted for, and brought in, tuition fees in England and Wales.

I would also remind you that there is no such thing as "free education". It is paid for by taxpayers.

Its the 1st thing that should go is free university. Its a joke, its an optional thing, no one makes anyone go. UKIP should bloody end that farce

Well, free at the point of delivery, just like NHS. It was still just "affordable" after Labour. CON-DEMs made it only within the reach of bankers and cheats (of which there are plenty).

For heaven's sake, do try to calm down. Britain has a long tradition of welcoming people from other counties who wish to make a life here and contribute to our society. There is no suggestion that anyone will be kicked out.

However, I am concerned about your attitude regarding English people.

edit: also if you were in academia you would have noticed that it is now impossible to employ anyone from outside of EU. It shall be true for EU nationals too if the UKIP get their way. UKIP is not your welcoming friendly party.

Believe me, I have met plenty that feel everyone must be local from their county (not even country) and they get very frisky about the idea of paying for services to a non-Englishman. It could be just Bristol though.

I don't expect you to go begging.....nor has anyone said that if you an employed tax payer from another country that you are going to get sent back.

There are 7 million non British born people in the uk (actually there is now more as this was the ONS 2010) 4.76 million non EU and 2.24 EU citizens .....I take my hat off and welcome those who work....... but the cost of keeping the ones who don't total to £22 million.....yes MILLION a day.....and add on the £50 daily cost to belong to the EU and you have 72 MILLION pounds a day of wasted money which could be going to the NHS...... and to show that I am not being a racist the lazy long term unemployed skivers (UK Born) costs the UK tax payer 87 billion per year...... both a bloody disgrace to the hard working tax payer.....and if you want to bring in the Rich people of the UK... who are 1% of the population, They actually pay tax more per head to maintain the country than any other social sector

And you also receive loads back from EU including the benefit of free trade. So it is about square. And please don't blame the EU for UK's internal wasteful benefits rules.

Rich people tend to have lucrative offshore tax arrangements. They may pay in far less than you'd think. What about the arab princes that own property rotting away in London as a investment, but don't even pay tax? How fair is that. And note, this is not the EU problem, but Borris and co.

I don't think there was much doubt that they would take Clacton, the Labour result a bit more of a surprise. Although, only 36% turnout, that may go some way to explaining it.

Jobs in Britain should go to British people yes. We as a country need to do more to ensure that British born people are working and able to get jobs - how's that a bad thing?

If our schooling standards were better we'd not have the issues of under achieving people.

That doesn't mean it will be the case in the future. Brussels can get p***ed off too, and UK really can't cherry pick just what is best. I believe Switzerland will soon face some of their own music and rightly so. That tax heaven and vaults of stolen gold needs to fall as a good example to the others.

We always had trade arrangements in place before the EU and I don't blame them for the waste of benefits rules....I blame Labour for them....... and as for offshore tax...that is something that has been on the go for a long time and it is written into EU benefits for EU Members.

As for finding a centre right party offensive, which is your right under our democratic laws to free speech and opinion but i don't see Farage and Co. standing at polling station welding baseball bats and threatening NON UK citizens..... if you feel as strongly against the democratic rights of British voters as you have vocally been on this thread maybe you should seriously consider relocation ... I would look toward North Korea or maybe Russia

It should be the best people for the [skilled] jobs in my opinion. The problem is illegal immigration (if only because they don't pay tax and eat benefits), but since the government can't control it they turn their attention to an easy target. There are enough jobs for the British, but many choose not to work and instead blame the EU or whatever while living on the dole.

I agree, the schooling standards are awful. Is it anything to do with EU, or the fact, that teachers are not adequately qualified and our national curriculum is watered down to what you get in Germany or Finland. A common EU education policy could only help the UK.
