Wouldn't it be better for the WHO just to tell us what we can actually eat, or maybe go a step further and only allow shops to sell what we can eat?
Probably far better just to ignore all of them. I've absolutely no doubt that there is solid evidence behind it, but how many things have they told us were good or bad for us and then 20 years down the line said just the opposite. They're not coming between me and my bacon butty!![]()
As long as microwaved meals are safe... Eat way too many of them.
Does anyone eat processed meat every day? Even before I married a veggie I wouldn't eat processed meat every day and had meat-free days too.
Do people really eat such boring, unvaried diets that they need sausage/bacon every single day? Surely boredom must kill them before the cancer does.

if your diet is made up of a lot of processed meant then you are probably in a bad way anyhow.

Life is a terminal condition. Life without everything that's supposed to be bad for us might be extended by a few years - but they'll feel like a century! Like sugar, alcohol and many other things, moderation is the key.

Although I wasn't aware that pork was red meatProcessed meat, such as bacon or hot dogs, causes cancer, a World Health Organization group said in a long-awaited determination on Monday.
The group said red meat, including beef, pork and lamb, probably causes cancer, too.
And let's face it, the very air we breathe is bloody lethal these days.
Sorry, but life's too short to worry about it.
I also wish they'd tell the full story and say "blah blah MAY cause cancer".
Yes, and in addition much of what we are told is is the media's version of scientific opinion (note that I don't say evidence).
Thoroughly sick of hearing that we should not eat this, drink that, look at the sun, hear loud noises, wear tight clothes. lie down with legs crossed, walk on cracks in the pavements ans so on and on and on .......... ad nauseum.
Just b****r off all you damned know alls, and you know damn alls.
That to me at this moment in time sounds a good idea ,shout at the devil and sod them all .the only thing that will come out of this is it gives the government of the day ( there all the same) an excuse to tax something else in the public interests of courseSounds like you need a Marlboro and a large single malt.![]()
sod them all
"everything I like to do iseitherImmoral, illegalorand fattening"
Fair point well presentedFTFY
The world is being run by vegetarians hell bent on us eating the animals food instead of the animals!
Right that settles it, I'm cutting out the veg from my food, that should half the likelihoodApparently a previous European Study showed that vegetarians had the same cancer rate as meat eaters, work that one out
It's interesting how many people are questioning the science and motivation behind this statement.
I suspect a lot of smokers felt the same when all the bad stuff about tobacco started getting broadcast.
Great. It'll be a shorter list of things that DON'T give you cancer soon.
