Hi Andy,

At first I also thought it was a dog or some sort of animal .... maybe a cow?

Reuben reckons it is waves

So come on what do you see?

Cheers

Dawn :)

Yup , tortoise top right...not sure what he's mounting though.....

A few mates and I had a long walk over several fells in the Lake District today.

I'd been told the weather forecast was: very sunny and blue skies.

I didn't take my camera.

We were atop a fell and I thought, "Now, what's the theme for this week? That's right, it's windy!"

Weather turned out to be overcast and...wait for it.....very WINDY.:shake::shake:

I managed to snap a few JPEGs with a mate's point and shoot. I'll see what they are like and, in all likelihood, weep.

And, to top it all, my face is red as a beetroot (even with factor 50 on!)

I'm off to sleep....

Well, I've been flat as the proverbial this week...not touched my camera.

I have my props for the windy photograph but it might have to wait until Saturday...

Cheers and I look forward to seeing y'alls windy photographs!

Well, in keeping with previous slapstick interpretations, here's my wind.

I had quite a few ideas but.....

Jackie said she had to, "suffer for her art!".

The black BG didn't really work neither.

Shot in JPEG (:shake:) because for some reason I couldn't get over 1/60 in RAW...

Brilliant idea for wind Andy. The concept is absolutely superb, just a shame that the black bg didn't quite work out.

Hi Andy, I like the idea, very good! As you say, it's a shame the background didn't quite work out. But good work

Thanks, we had great fun with this one. My daughter included.

Now, onto this week's theme....

Firstly Andy I must apologise for not being here in a while.
I thought I had subscribed to all the 52ers threads, but for some reason I had unsubscribed to yours

As a result I've missed several weeks so I'll focus on my fav, which is the bolts on toast.
It's great idea and I think both compositions work.

The hair and talk shots are good too.

I've subscribed again so hopefully I'll be back again soon!

Andy,

Brilliant takes on the Wind and Weird make me laugh

Me too  could be a joker coming up from me

Cheers, just processing my evolve....

Cheers, Neil, I didn't take offence....I was just biding my time...:bat:

I had sssoooo many ideas for this theme and all involved dragging out an assortment of old tech.

I decided to keep it simple with the theme and processing; and I even left a dust bunny in.....

It was photographed on a white board and I decided to leave the shadows and faults on the Polaroid print in.

Cheers.

andy..great take on the theme... úber idea.. i'm sure its my eyes playing up on the extreme bottom edge being dazzled by the white of the background...white on white i guess..

Excellent idea Andy.
Very original, and well executed.

I was reading this week that the Polariod is making a comeback, but as a digital camera with built in printer!

i've got 2 in the garage.. maybe they'll do conversion to digitial... like when you have them changed to IR ??? ... NO??

Hiya Andy,

I've fallen a bit behind with my commenting of late, so here I am doing a quick catch-up.

Great idea for 'wind' ... agree with comments already made and what a pity the background didn't work out as planned .... but I guess that is how it goes some times. Well done to Jackie too for doing a fantastic job with helping out with the props .... looks like you had great fun :D

I like your take on 'evolution' too. I had thought of a similar idea, but you beat me to it  So I had to think of something else but is nothing exciting .... so it may be back to the drawing board for me.

You have put much thought into the shot and I like how you have the photo of the DSLR in the image

Well done

Cheers

Dawn :)

Thanks.

Thanks, there is something quite endearing about a Polaroid.

Thanks, Dawn, I'm sure you'll rise to the occasion.

There does seem to be an inverse relationship at work with my themes. When I really try to be origional, it sometimes end up with squad....

I have a few more ideas that I hope to post...

Cheers.

Great shots for Wind and Evolution - creative ideas. I must say that's an incredibly extravagant way to snort - must have cost a fortune;)

Thanks all.

Well I'm officially late with a theme for the first time.

I had my record all planned out to do on Friday but Isabelles bedroom looks like the SAS have been practicing urban warfare in there do a major prop could not be found.

I'm out with Jackie and Isabelle today so may happen across record and work, which would be nice.

Have a nice day all....

Like the WIND idea - not sure about holding the black card - would the shot have worked without it? cropped in tighter too perhaps...

Evolve is clever, well thought out and executed :)

Cheers, the black card was an epic fail. I might try and crop in to see what it looks lie.

Evolve, sometimes the simple ideas work. :D

Week 34. My first late entry.

Not overly happy, mainly due to the lower left text looking blurred for some reason. The black BG has come out well, as has the white paper.

Anyway, this is a record of the blood, sweat, tears and broken bones (not mine..;)) it took me to get awarded my black belt in ju jitsu.

I took ju jitsu up when I met Jackie; mainly because she and my now 2 step daughters also trained. I thought it better safe than sorry...:gag:

In keeping with my record theme, I decided to stay with it and provide a visual representation of what my ju jitsu work resulted in.

I struggled to get the colours right and had to sacrifice the black BG to get decent colours. The shallow depth shows my older belts fading into distant memories.

Cheers.

Andy, i love the second record. i thought for a moment you'd formed a 'vinyl' record from other material, then read the blurb (doh!) .. but well done for both. i love the DOF for the tower of belts. ... the orange belt seems to 'hum' with colour...

Andy that was a fantastic idea for evolution, lovely job.
Not so keen on record but won't say anymore as I can see you can handle yourself!
The work shot I really like although I wouldn't have figured out what it was. My only crit with it would be that the top belt is centred in the shot while the rest drift off to the left, leaving more space on the lower right.

Record is pretty naff...:shake: I had an idea but a prop I needed was not to be found.

I wanted more time on the work photograph, but the light was fading..

Cheers.

Hiya Andy,

I like the idea for your record shot, my only crit is that I would have preferred the whole record to be in focus. Well done on your attaining your black belt

Great idea to follow on from the record shot to the work shot, although without the explanation I wouldn't have made the connection to the theme. However, I like the photo and I think the background works well. The angle at which you have taken the shot also creates a sort of abstract image .... something I really like. Only thing is my OCD takes control of me here and I would have preferred it to be more of a central crop .. there seems to be slightly more space on the right.

Well done on both counts though.

Cheers

Dawn :)

All good points.

I've just done another record, somewhat rushed....:annoyed: always seems to be something else I have to do, like feed Isabelle....:rules:

Anyway, I'll have a look and my photographs and see if worthwhile posting.

Cheers.

black belt eh..good for you, must have been a lot of work

and whilst I am not entirely sold on the angle, its a good pic, and good thinking for the theme

funny shot for weird, well caught shot of a LOT of hair!

but the screws on toast, frankly, yes, very weird, tough call between them, tho i suppose the toast pic IS weirder :0)

elaborate, good collection of pics, but find the montage a bit distracting myself, top right one my favourite

celebrate, well, bang on theme, and a lovely shot, CONGRATS!!!

RESCUE - absolutely brilliant, love it :0)) clever processing, wish you were really hanging off the gutter tho!!

black and whites definitely better, like you say, great gritty feel for broken, and suits a JD bottle full stop anyway I think?

Hi, Fleur, thanks for the feedback. All that long hair is now gone....:(

Hi Andy I thought I had replied but I must have forgot. Well done with your record and its picture, all the things have been covered so I wont repeat them. I like the belts one as well. As for the latest version if record, it looks really good and has a great feel to it..
