Posiview's Photo 52 'Nature' added **FINISHED!!**

Hiya Andy,

Actually I like Isabelle's new hair style ... it makes her look a bit more grown-up and suits her well!

I have to say also that I like the photo and can see where you were going with the processing. Great idea too for the book .... I'll have to get one of those for Reuben ... he is forever collecting flowers, leaves, acorns, .....etc from the woodlands and never know what to do with them when we get home

Cheers

Dawn :)

Hi Andy I thought I had replied but I must have forgot. Well done with your record and its picture, all the things have been covered so I wont repeat them. I like the belts one as well. As for the latest version if record, it looks really good and has a great feel to it..

On reflection, I'm not happy with either. There just a bit too , and they're mine. They lack inspration.

Cheers, I do like it; it's just the looking grown up but I'm a bit...:'( about, but I guess they all grow up....

The book is really enjoyable, more so for me, may be... I also got her a flower press from Amazon which is much bigger than it looks.

Anyway, loads of ideas for 'blur' but I'm conscious of not spending too much time out with my camera....so I'll spend in on TP...:D

Hi Andy

great shot for Record....the belt tower ....just love it  Great detail in the black belt & love the use of DOF down to the older belts , the colored ones show really well .Great frame as well , quite natty  ( My OCD however is having a bad time as the centre of the coil is not centred :bang: )

Isabelle sure seems engrossed in her new book ( never seen one of those but a great idea for young'uns) , like the effect of the processing on her hair & the leaves but not suite so sure about the effect on her skin

Hi Andy

Love your latest shot but not sure it says record... however I think it would be perfect for the Knowledge Category from way back.

Cheers, I was going to edit the tower but, maybe some other time.

I agree about Isabelle's skin, she looks well grimy.

Took a long walk around Malham today and I'm pooped...:gag:

Anyway, I saw loads of small flowers blowing in the wind, with the obvious result of then being blurred.

I've made them both dark because I was after a dreamy, impressionist feel.

I have another few ideas and I'll look to get them one during the week.

Cheers.

you know andy...for a moment i was thrown back by both shots... BUT then i read your blurb...and they totally make sense... i see the cadbury's flake woman just meandering through the grass ...like the 1st above the 2nd, as the second is perhaps too dark..but moreso the flowers are mere shapes. where as 1st... there are distinct..you've captured an element of detail inside the petals... lovely colour though..

now i need chocolate !!

Sorry but they don't float my boat :/

However spot on for blur as they are. Only thing I can think may (or may not) have made it better is a rear sync flash (flash at end of exposure). This might give you a detailed flower with a trail where it was.. difficult to time if blowing in the wind tho.

Been enjoying your pics tho, different takes on the themes really cool. Really like the belts one!

I have another few ideas and I'll look to get them one during the week.
...am looking forward to your ideas :)

I think the suggestion above about second curtain sync flash might be worth exploring if you re-visit this idea.

I think a combination of the level of backfround detail in the first, with the vibrant colour of the second would be more appealing to me - and would hopefully still be true to the style you were going for.

Good effort though!

I think the application lagged way behind the idea I had.

number 1 is better. Nice movement in the Harebells. If anything, I would have framed them on the left hand side.

You know, after reviewing my photographs, most are bias towards the right. Thanks for the suggestion.

I am not so sure on the blur ones, I like the idea (prefer pic 2), but I feel I need to focus on something.

Record picture is fantastic.

Cheers, guys, I know what rear curtain sync is, kind of, but it would not have crossed my mind to use it.

Second attempt....rushed, as freakin usual....always somewhere I have to be....:)

Not too unhappy. Hand is an issue...:bang:, I wanted to get in the garden but the light faded quite fast/started to rain so I have to return indoors.

I also wanted to do it stood up but a) I'm on my own and b) I'd have legged the boot through a window in all likelihood...:gag:

Cheers.

Week 35 Blur 3 by andysheader, on Flickr

Blur 4.

Maybe the first truly Marmite photograph I've posted in my 52. I was just playing around and layered four photographs in PS and overlayed them. Bit of PP and hey presto.

Reminded me of Jacob's Ladder (one hell of a film!!).

Cheers.

That last image is one freaky picture Andy.

I've been on my hols so a bit of a catch-up.
I've not read through all the comments so apologies if I repeat what others say.

Record - nice idea and it is a record, but it just looks like a picture of your record of martial arts achievement. I would have prefered some props in the picture, maybe your belts or some other equipment you use.

Work - It doesn't say work without the explanation, but it's a nice shot and another good record! The moving off centre doesn't bother me. I like the DOF too.

Blur - The flower ones don't do anything for me and I'm not sure what that thing falling on your head is, but the last one, love it.

Haven't you heard of minimalism :D Point taken.

Yeah, there have been quite a few different interpretations of work, which is always refreshing and stimulating.

No worries, on reflection they are a tad under exposed.

The blurred thing falling on my head is a boot.

The last one, I do like, I feel I might do a few more of these.

Now stop reading this and catch up....

Hiya Andy,

Well done on doing so many photos for 'blur'. I'm not too keen on the first ones, although if I had to choose it would have to be the 2nd of the two shots.

The 2nd take on blur is not working for me as I didn't know what the 'blur' was until I read further. Perhaps if there was more definition in the 'blurred' object maybe it would have worked better

The last shot is brilliant ... however I think you could have achieved same in one shot rather than using layers.

However, I think you have done well.

I need to still post my 'blur' shots, which I worked on last weekend, but as I have not been well .... again.... I need to do some catching up. Can't believe how many people's posts I have missed.

Keep up the great work.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Hi Andy

crikey...you've sure been busy with Blur...but your last image is giving me nightmares

O fht eothers I much prefer the 1st flower one...your've caught some detail in the flower centre , the colors stand out nicely against the background & though blurred beautifully you can still tell what the subject it...nice work mister

Cheers, the first 2 are growing on me, although they may be a tad dark.

Totally agree about the boot photograph. Needed more definition.

Regarding the head shot, not sure if I could have got the same in one shot - I did single shots but they were all blur, what I was after was a blurred photograph, but a sense of definition and clarity in the eyes.

Blur number 4 is very good for blur. Nice bit of work there.

Cheers. That was the spur of the moment idea and possibly the best take on the theme.

Thanks, nightmares, wait 'til you see e in real life...:gag:

I had several ideas as soon as I saw this theme, one involved a very large, sharp knife....:cuckoo:

I have a few more ideas but it was a tad wet outside today so I'll look to get them done during the week.

Anyway here's two I did today. Trying to get sharp eyes when taking a self portrait isn't easy..

Hi Andy

sometimes I really really could go off you...your pp skills are far far far to good

Love both the ideas...but the 2nd one for having both eye's is the better one for me . There are a couple of little niggles but as I could never ever hope to get an image even 1/2 as good as these I'm saying no more :D

Your comment about a large sharp knife also has me a touch worried ..........:lol:

Many thanks. Any critique would be welcome. I suspect one of them is the external light from the window in my eye and I can still see my tripod....I reduced the opacity of the clock layers to tyry and avoid just having black eyes.

Cheers.

Hiya Andy,

Excellent shots for Time ... well done on both. I too, like Lynne, don't think I could quite get anything like this done in post processing, so great stuff.

I'm keen to see the ideas others come up with for this theme. I need to get my thinking cap on.

Cheers

Dawn :)

#2 for me, really like the idea and it's be well done.
You've certainly set a benchmark for not going for the obvious shot.

Hi Andy,

You sure do think outside the box for all your theme shots and I like them.

Hi Andy 2 great shots there. Great pp work! Difficult to choose between them. Well done and great out of the box thinking!

time 1 (pic 2) for me. Nicely composed and sharp.

Thanks, everyone

Spent an hour or so another photograph but only ended up gashing my thumb while chopping at some weeds (nowt serious) and then poking myself in the bloody eye with my thumb...:bang:

And, I got nowt to add to my 52...

:bonk:

Cheers and good luck with your Time.

Mix, plenty of ideas there.

I had an idea of mixing the photographs I've taken so far for my 52.

Here's 2 I've done so far. They are photographs, but I haven't photographed them specifically for this theme so unlikely to be my final submissions.

#2 was done in PS, all 52 photographs I have posted in my 52 were imported and then processed using the 'overlay' function.

Now, give us an 'M', give us an 'A', give us an 'R' give us an 'M', well, I'm sure you get the rest...

Cheers.

I had a flash of inspiration which wasn't easy to translate into a photograph...:gag:

Bit rushed and I'm a tad tired...

First of all, thanks to my wife for being such a sport and allowing me to post this one, because it ain't pretty and my ego had to be parked for me to post it.

I give you Jackie, Isabelle and Andy - mixed.

Hi Andy

like the montage for MIX...good idea ( & one I thought of but seeing yours I'm glad I didn't do it ! ) .Love how you've got a border on each shot ...maybe an external border would have finished it off...made it look like it was framed & ready to hang on a wall ?

Your flash of inspiration....WOW....stunningly good...nuff said :clap::clap:

Andy, could you slow down? Between Dawn and yourself I feel so inadequate, just trying to get one shot a week!

Your marmite shots are increasing...

Mix 1...doesn't work for me, all i see is the solitary eye
Mix 2....nope, not at all for me.
Mix 3....appreciate the skill and find the result rather scary :$ Not something I feel I want to look at.

Thanks.

Now, #3 was an experiment and I'm glad I did it, but "marmite shots are increasing",, overall, I feel that's somewhat unfair.

If all you see is an eye, perhaps an eye test is in order

All C&C is welcome, but constructive feedback even more so.

Cheers.

I really like your last mix shot... would not have a clue how to do that myself... so well done.... I'm not normally a huge big PP fan... but every so often one shot makes an exception for me.... thats one!

Hiya Andy,

I'm doing a quick catch up tonight on fellow 52 projects, and notice you posted 3 images for 'mix' so well done to you.

Like the idea of the 1st image, a sort of montage of the past few weeks, something I would have done if I had the time :D I think it works really well.

I like the abstractness of the 2nd image. The last one is a bit weird, but a great idea.

Cheers

Dawn :)

andy.... what can i say about mixing... about yout mixture... about your manage-a-tois???

#1 ...great idea.. tossed salad idea...photos thrown on a table..but!!.. too flat... shadows, bent edges.. different frames... think about all the different formats people print photo on... polaroid, slides, magazine cuttings even?? maybe too far... but still.. good effort...

..and onto #2.. nothing for me... its a mess... a horrible burnt ...something..

#3... brilliant composure...love the idea... BUT i wonder if this is the real andy...??? i always struggle to blend faces into other peoples... you've done a decent job of it... not really knowing your better thirds i see you used them for the best parts..
