Posiview's Photo 52 'Nature' added **FINISHED!!**

Thanks all. I did notice the contrast was a bit strange but I couldn't work out how to sort it out.

I'll have a play around over the week.

I was/am looking to do a triptych and the subject was domestic violence. I still need to work on it though.

This one was, obviously, of Isabelle hiding out of the way.

I had it both ways: she's a good actress and she was bored silly stuck in the cupboard...:D

really like your hiddern shot not only b/w but nice and dark looks good i would be very pleased with that shot just on its own without the theme attached :thumbs:
 
Great take on the theme and well executed. Just some more PP on the original and I think it will be a corker. I think, like the other comments, it needs lightening on the face, more contrast in the B&W conversion, and a catchlight in the eye would be good.

Yeah, it's a theme I might expand upon, providing I can get Isabelle to climb into more cupboards/boxes, etc...

I had catchlight but cloned it out because that would suggest a camera was there and I was looking at just getting her scared, anxious face. Haven't quite explained that very well...

Thanks, as above with the catchlight bit I really am not happy with the B&W conversion. I've edited the colurs version a few times but can't get it right.

I might have another go and lighten her face/add ore contrast as you suggest.

I post this photograph through sheer bloody-mindedness having been in the back garden for what seemed an age.

I had the idea on Sunday of photographing my face in a broken mirror.

Trying orientate the mirror and camera and be able to see the live view on my laptop was sssoooo easy....not!

Anyway, I got what I got and expect no real comments because it's pretty naff.

I have two more ideas which I hope to get tomorrow night.

Can't have been easy to achieve but looks a good image to me. I would crop down to above your eyebrow and have the crack running almost centre, just to break a rule at the same time.

Broken...1st off , you're a braver man than I to go messing with broken mirrors:lol: Much prefer the edited/cropped version...feels far more ...well I dunno really...gritty maybe ? ( I know what I mean , just cant find the right words !) & a mahoosive well done on getting the shot without the camrea reflection anywhere :clap:


Love your Hidden shot , almost sinister , like she's hiding from the big bad wolf . Like this a lot , the processing works well for me :thumbs:

Second idea for broken - with help from my lovely assistant, Isabelle.

I've broken down several times, mainly due to running out of petrol...:shake:

Several dozen takes and I've decided to post 3. #3 is my overall favorite....just really annoyed I didn't get my right leg fully in. I like the despairing look and the composition, perspective.

I know the horizons aren't level but I still can't work out what to do if my subject is on an incline that throws the horizon off - so I decided to make my subject level...:thinking:

I've owned a few VW and I can relate to these.

I like the pose in #1 but find it appears rather heavily processed for my taste. The B&W doesn't work so much for me. The processing of #3 seems lighter and i prefer it, unfortunately you cut your foot off ;)

I'm not as keen on the 2n'd & 3rd as they seem more staged .... but #1 is just so realistic and I love the colours and the horizontals are better.

You are defo into the groove of this Photo52 now and I love seeing what you produce each week. You have a great imagination and are very creative and that is a true inspiration for me :clap:

I like number one out of all of them, background is nice, scene is nice and exposure is spot on. However, the one bit of oof grass really distracts!

Lovely idea though, might have a bash at this myself one day!
 
Have to agree with everyone so far, 1 is the strongest as they stand. shame about your foot in the third shot. Not an easy shot to setup and get everything spot on.
 
Hi Andy.... VW's huh !

Number 1 is def the best shot for me , love the detail in the sky & the I can almost feel your despair :thumbs: Horizontals :shrug: The gate & car look level to me....nature is'nt straight so can't see a problem at all :)

No1 for me too. Love the sky and the broken message really comes across well in that shot. Great imaginative shot, that's well executed with good composition and bright colours. Excellent.

Not my final submission but I was sat daydreaming when my daughter let go of her balloon.

It floated to the ceiling and I saw the bright reflection from the livingroom light so took the shot. Amazing how this project is always on my mind...:cuckoo:

I have a few other ideas but liked the abstract nature of this one:
