Sorry it's brief - I'm lagging behind again!
Dark - Definitely dark! Love the PP.
Time - Both lovely shots, excellent colour in the first and contrast in the second.
Body - Love the colour, that purple is fantastic. The top left shot looks beautifully sinister.
really like the colour version I'm not sure that something like flowers work in b and w. The larger version ( the right hand pic) really shows how dead the flower is if that makes any sense
A nice mix of images Andy.
It's good to see you're still going.
A withered body - neat idea and they all look good with the black background. I prefer the b/w versions personally.
Great idea for the them Andy, out of the 2 I prefer the b+w version as it really adds to the withered look.
Time - Looks a wonderful place to visit. I think the idea of Isabelle and Jackie looking at the view #1 would have worked if they were more prominant. You have to search around or read the title, if you know what I mean.
#2 is a brilliant shot helped by the processing and is my choice for the theme.
Body - Great idea and prefer 1st colour version. Says body of plant, dead, withered etc. Well lit and suits black BG. The definition of the right hand B/W really stands out
Good work Andy
I like both for time but think my vote goes to your B&W entry. Its a cracking conversion holding all the detail in the headstone and sky. Again another image which tells a story in itself. Any viewer looking in without your description would, I think, still come to the same conclusion as to what the image is trying to convey.
Body, I am drawn more to the colour version. I think it stands out more against the black background. A good choice of crop, the flower filling the frame works well. Iain
Sorry not commented for a while, hope you had a fab holiday. Can not wait for our trip in October to Scotland.
Contrast - love this, excellent contrast! And well executed, the flame is a nice colour.
Mineral - #1 very visually appealing as a shot, good DOF and colour. Mineral not totally obvious but I still like it! #2 says mineral and I like it but #1 wins for me.
Dark - definitely says dark, nice and simple and nails the theme.
Time - stunning, #2 is so poignant and full of emotional. Both in the scenery and the subject. #1 is good too for the theme, but then you took #2
Body - #1 the colour adds to the shot, #2 is too B&W. Nice idea and a good one for the theme. Your ideas may come in for another theme so keep them stashed up.
Time - #1 feels like a postcard. Nothing wrong with that but I find #2 far more interesting photographically
Body - I prefer the colour version. I think the dulled down greens and purpes work well together. As a crit the shadows on the background of the left hand images just need cloning out.

Hi matey
color version for me....different take on the theme & took a while for the penny to drop iwth me on your choice...but yeah , fits for sure. I'm liking the detail in the color ones ( B&W never seems to work for me with flowers ), the only minor niggle for me is I'd have liked a little more room below the headd in the RH image...if that makes sense ?
see ya in wk 35![]()

hmm - I was sure I'd commented on your time - anyway I prefer the 2nd one, our time here is brief as they say
body - I'm not sure why the flower is dead? but I prefer the cropped colour one - it's a bit dark but I'm thinking that was intentional to make it look more sombre?
Well, I have my liquid planned. Jackie and Isabelle have volunteered to assist...

Good depth to your photograph Andy, its got interest from the rocks in the foreground through to the bridge in the background. You've captured lots of movement in the water too.
Critique, apologies if it sounds like I am being too harsh, not my intention but I will say it as I see it. It seems quite dark to me, may just be my laptop though. A slight rotation CCW would straighten it, I am taking my level off the water under the bridge and the bridge itself. And finally, sorry, there seems to be light spots at the top of the frame don't know if these are water splashes or light itself.
Andy, apologies again, I don't mean to be harsh if it came across that way. Iain
Have to agree with Iain about the rotation and about the darkness, have looked at it large and you are right good detail throughout the water and nice movement in the foreground and stillness in the distance.
Hi Andy,
Liquid - it looks like a great place to shoot! Again as others have said I find the background a tad dark butIi do like the foreground and the way the white water leads your eye up the image!![]()
Andy
Trying to catch up
Mineral - like the movement in the cascade of salt. Good focus but I would like to see the salt crystals a bit whiter or slightly sparkling
Dark - I think that this idea, compostion and capture are excellent.
Time - #1 - good composition and capture for the theme, but may be the people are overxposed or wearing the wrong colours as I must admit that i missed them on first viewing and i think that they are essential to the story that you are telling.
#2 is great. Ex pov and focus and the sky is sublime
Body - doesn't really hit the theme foe me. Colours ar e little muted, altho that goes with your storyline, and the b&w do nothing for me , sorry
Liquid - agree with others about horizontals but the rest of the shot is super. Like the variations in the colours and the way that the grey water links them together. Littel splashes of colour and little splashes of water.
I agree with others regarding the crit already provided - horizons and water on the lens
i think the composition of liquid is very good, but it looks very dark on my monitor so a lot of the detail is missed (laptop btw). Love the angle though

Just viewing on my phone. Number 2 for me Andy, I prefer its composition.
Cheers, Michael, these have really grown on me....
Anybody else![]()
Well, having 'volunteered' to photograph my daughter's wedding Saturday I'd better prepare my gear. Wish me luck!!
Cheers.

Hi ya matey
1st up......you gonna tell what the new lens is ? & best of luck with the wedding....look forward to seeing some shots
Now ,too your images.......bit confused as to why you needed to use exposures for Liquid ? Lovely image, great detail in the whole of it......apart from the slight squiffyness
Soft reshoot......never thought I'd say this but NO,NO,not for me I'm afraid. Roses are soft , your pp ,to me at least, makes them appear hard & coarse with total loss of any original color.
the 2nd image is slightly more appealing barring the outer petal with is driving me crackers but again fould have worked better with some rather softer pp
Sorry if I've offended you,not my intention just being honest

Enjoy the wedding togging Andy, good luck, do we get to see some pics?
Your soft reshoot Andy,
#1 gets my vote between the two that you have posted but (there's always a but isn't there) the hot area on the rhs is quite distracting to my eye.
I love the composition on #1. Its got the "golden spiral" thing going on with the perspective of looking down on the petals into the body of the flower head.
#2 is fine as a photograph but it's just that I find the pointy petal on the lhs a bit distracting.
I am undecided on the treatment/texture of both. As Lynne mentioned, the flower is soft in itself but the treatment is slightly harsh IMHO.
Sorry for being a bit negative again. I hope it all goes well in the wedding photography. iain
Hi Andy, sorry I've been very busy these last few weeks, struggling to get around to everyone again!
Body, I like the withered body idea, but they're just a little to dark for me! Saying that I much prefer the colour versions and the full size one had a day of the triffids feel about it
Liquid, what Iain said! However, I love the depth and detail from foreground to background
Soft reshoot, number one doesn't do anything for me, sorry. I couldn't tell what it was at first, thought I was looking in someone's ear:bonk: Number two though I think is lovely, composition, DOF and the texture overlay really works for me
I hope the wedding went well and you got some great shots of your daughter and new son in law!
Oh and what have you been buying now?

Liquid - This one divides me. the foreground is gorgeous, really well shot, but the background (as others have said) seems a little dark and the sky looks rather blue, too - almost as if it's been edited that way. I think with a little more PP there's a lot of potential here though.
Soft - I really like the second shot. The framing is lovely, the colours are beautifully soft... but I don't like the texture. I'm sure this will divide people, but personally it reminds me of noise and I think it detracts from the softness.
