weekly Posiview's 2012 ....week 52 Busy added...finished!

Utterly gorgeous, Andy - the colours, the tones, the almost-HDR treatment (a favourite of yours?) are all spot on. The only slight adjustment I might consider is bringing out a similar level of contrast in the sky - but I can see why you might not, letting the focus fall more easily on the castle.

Thanks. I did consider a bit of dodging and burning but as you say, i thought it would detract from the glow of the sunset.

- great capture there, spot on composition. Wonderful!

Thanks...one of my favourites so far.

Hi Andy, looks like you had a good time at the meet. That is a lovely picture. Cracking light

It was a great meet...really great folk. Look forward so seeing you for the TP end meet

On a Flickr black background that looks great Andy

Lovely light, nice empty beach and a sky full of interest, and with the colour of the dunes and Castle... well

Thanks, just before I looked at your post I had a look in Flickr on black BG and totally agree with you.

Thanks all.

Well, having just reviewed by TP 26, I'd give myself a 2/10.

I'm not fishing for compliaments, but I feel I need to simplify.

Cheers all and here's to a productive next 26 (or 27 if Sarah get's it wrong again ;)).

Thanks Alan, can you clarify what you mean by 'indistinct'? Greater tonal range perhaps?

Thanks all...

The best i can describe it is that there is space coming forward from the fountain to the edge of photo, and space from the trees up through the sky, in which the details are clear. But there is a middle area which seems to consist of the pool wall, a hedge, some topiary and trees which are compressed and the tonal range seems to blend them together. Perhaps a slightly higher pov? But it is still agood shot - just takes me a bit of study to understand it.

Joy - good composition, nice capture of the light. good reward for being in the right place at the right time.

Heard a c talk by John Rowell recently and your shot reminded me of some of the points that he made

Joy -- lovely shot, the light on the castle is perfect

Gorgeous capture. The joy of taking a photo, joy of simply getting a capture and the joy of a good scene!

Retiring the Nikon?!?!?!?

Many the light lasted a few minutes then it was gone.....really want to be there now...:shake:

Trying to use my camera phone for a while...but it isn't easy :D

Thanks all and awaiting week 27

I like the idea of using the camera, will have to wait until I upgrade as the lens on my phon is a wee bit scratched.

Both good reshoots. I like #1 the best I think. #2 is good but the sky (and a very nice sky it is!) takes over the shot. I forget that its for symmetry.

Good point regarding number 2.

They are both a little darker than on my laptop.... Guess that's Flickr...

Right... Let's see if the weather. Holds off for my Small :-)

Well, unable to make the photograph I intended with my phone so reverted to the Nikon.....:D

Two of the same tree. It was at the foot of a very large tree. I noticed it while sheltering from the rain. It really appealed to me: this huge tree and the really small sapling.

I tried desatuting the greens to emphasise the reds.

Other ideas are ruminating, just need the weather to hold or and Jackie/Isabelle to play models :help:

Cheers and happy photographing...

'Small' - like that, colour processing works well and definitely fits the theme

Lovely shot for small, Andy - I especially love the red colour, it's really vibrant. Excellent choice of subject too, it's quite romantic in a way.

Thanks. I'd have really liked all all the leaves to have been red.

Didn't feel very romantic standing under a tree in the rain :-(

I like your take on this weeks theme Andy.
It has a 3D feel to it for me Andy, I think this is down to the vibrant colours in the sapling against the grass. The shallow dof works well too. You've taken a lot from what is quite a simple subject, well spotted. Sharp, well exposed and composition spot on. Big  from me. Iain

Joy – Great image. You’ve captured some lovely evening colours

Reshoot – I like the #1 symmetry shot the best. Nice use of B&W

Small – Well seen and certainly on theme. The red certainly makes it stand out from the grass

I love your sapling shot Andy. I can't understand why you want to do anything else for this theme?

Thanks all.

I'm hoping to get outside this afternoon to photograph my original idea for Small... Just need to get rid of the hang over :-!

Hi Andy, I've been a bit busy just lately so a little behind.

Joy is a superb shot, gorgeous lighting.

Symmetry reshoot, both great shots for a phone, but I prefer number one. There's too much sky in number two for me.

Small, a lovely simple shot, nice PP to highlight the sapling.

Hi all and thanks for the feedback. Small that I submitted wasn't my original idea but weather got in the way :-(

Lacking a bit of mojo recently but it'll be back.

Have some ideas for Straight and hope to be able to get my proper Small.

I haven't commented much lately but will catch up this week.

Cheers all.

Hi Andy

Straight #1 - really good idea for the theme. Vibrant colours and good detail in the leaves. Good background

#2 - i can see the straight cuts but not really getting the theme. However a classy photo. Sharp image and the PP is excellent - really like the border.

Hi Andy

Number one fits the theme better with the straight cut between the leaves. The white background really glows, did you shoot these on the white background or is it assisted with PP?

I get number two with the section cut out and flipped but in a straight line. The detail in the leaf is amazing:thumbs:

I think you need to do a third one and make a triptytch:thinking:

I look forward to your fish tank shots.
