Don't know how interested people are in video but I was intrigued to see that quite a lot of this was apparently shot on a GF1.

Not sure how he is getting such long recording times with it though. Also my brief experiment with shooting video in low light was very noisy, his looks great.

Can you do this on the GF1 though or do you need some kind of controller to set it off at timed intervals? Can't remember seeing it in the GF1 options.
I realised that after I posted actually.
I am new to all this stuff and a bit thick.![]()

I concur. ISO 100 and all is well. ISO 400 when it's gloomy. Above that and you're going to need some serious NoiseNinja work. Having said that 1600 is still usable if you have a bold image, though the pixel peepers will be casting aspersions.

The pixel peepers can stick it up their arse
Even 1600 and above would be fine printed at A4 or displayed on Flickr etc
Arse!

Any one find silkypix to display RAW files full of noise ?. I just find it shows RAW file full
of it, even at low ISO. When I load RAW files up in other software they are fine.

Damn - I have missed this by 3 days :bang::bang::bang:
Deviating once again but how are you guy's setting your ISO? I usually stay at 100 but thought on a nice sunny day to pop it up over 400 (Gasp! shock! Horror!) Would i get away with clean shots at a nice fast shutter speed and something like f8?
I shoot at ISO 400 as a matter of course unless I'm getting shutter speeds over 1/500 in which case I'll bump it down a bit.
Seen a couple on ebay - sadly Jacobs were doing em for £193 but not any more.
Thanks - I missed out on the Jacobs deal, as I thought I wouldn't bother at the time![]()
I've no idea, that would involve RTFM.BTW what's the difference between ISO Auto and iISO?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you...
The one, the only...
The Great Manwell... MANWELL!!!
ok, it's not the only version but apparently its better than the one that ships with it
Looks the same to me:shrug:
I've got an Op/tech wrist strap on mine, but I get the feeling it wouldn't be to your taste (probably the inelegant one you refer to), an alternative would be the skin you can buy to stick on the camera body, it comes in a variety of textures, including a Leica-like one

I'm not convinced it works on a GF-1 though....
