That's great @Harlequin565, one or both of us will be in front of the Masterclass Theatre next to the Food Village in Hall 2 at 11:30 and 14:30

I'll be there tomorrow as well, looking forward to seeing everyone.

Anyone posting images of the discounted prices lists from today's show?

Going tomorrow and wondering whether to take credit card, so to speak.

Canon R6 prob.

Maybe a couple of R's if cheap.

Grateful if you could. Thanks.

Deals aren’t amazing to be honest
R6 is just about cheaper than usual. Just not exactly what I'm looking for. All else pretty awful prices.
The old r is much cheaper at hdew.
I wonder if a7r4 is better priced and the manfrotto stuff?

cheaper at hdew.
Any opinions on their 3 year warranty? Don't want to derail the thread, but has anybody had to claim on it without issue?

I think I can remember having a 'mack' warranty a long time ago, which worked out fine for me. Don't know if the HDEW is a mack warranty though.

For those who went today did you feel it was run responsibly from a health and safety aspect?
Thank you

Yes, but it's down to individuals as well. They check your covid pass thing and give you a wrist band. Lot's of sanitiser about etc.

I'd say the main issue is other people not being aware of their surroundings and standing about 4 inches away from you or sitting right next to you in a talk etc. I just put my bag next to me to avoid that.

Thanks Tom, pretty much what I thought would be the case.

As stated previously, everything appeared to be run responsibly on the whole, but everyone bears personal responsibility, so you make the best of the situation.
The most obvious issue for me was that the majority of people were not wearing masks, but this wasn't surprising.
Equipment and surfaces on the camera stands were being cleaned, although I didn't see that many people sanitising after using the cameras.
With the reduced number of exhibitors this year, there was plenty of space, especially on the Olympus stand :ROFLMAO:

Thanks, again pretty much what I expected to hear.
Bit surprised that the gear isn't being sanitised regularly, would have thought that more important than the stand.
Does that mean Olympus didn't show up with much, wanted to have a try with the 100-400

I said the equipment was being cleaned

Re: Olympus - All the equipment is there, I was merely stating that the stand was empty from a customer perspective with the staff stood around twiddling their thumbs.

Sorry, misread it as people not sanitising the cameras.

Maybe, not sure yet, m4/3 does seem to be getting less popular although i'm happy enough with it.
Did you notice any good show prices for Olympus or Panansonic?

There seemed to be a fair bit of that, lots of staff and not many customers. Probably expected it to be busier.

Some of the stands didn't really help keep people apart as they had cameras on display with about a foot gap between each one so people just ended up shoulder to shoulder at for example the Sony and Canon stands.

I didnt think there were any decent saving, although it depends what you're after. Panasonic are not at the show.

I went yesterday and spoke to some of the traders. Camera World and LCE both had much smaller stands than in previous years and said they were having issues with getting stock. There was the occasional good deal, but if you are hunting for bargains, this years show isn't as good as previous years and you might be disappointed.

Going to give it a miss this year
I'm still recovering from a fractured coccyx and don't much much feel like dodging people all day.
If anyone fancies it i'm going to stick a couple of tickets for tomorrow in the Freebie giveaway section

It was definitely quieter than I expected. There were some good deals to be had away from cameras and lenses, film and paper for example were not bad at all.

I enjoyed a good mooch around and it was great to meet up with sirch, andysnap and harlequin- an accidental F&C meet-up.
succumbed to GAS and put a deposit on a Chroma Snapshot.

I hope everyone had a good journey home and it was great to meet up with @stevelmx5, @Andysnap, @Harlequin565 and @lindsay. I'm still debating whether I need a Chroma and then which one? and given the really innovative cameras and accessories that Steve had on display its not an easy choice ... kid in a sweet shop :) .

I guess that's why I like going, meeting friends, some really interesting talks, a chance to see all the latest innovations and get my hands on the gear.

I got dragged to Resorts World today, the NEC looked busier than I expected...

The only deal I took advantage of was for two of these cards. WEX couldn't match the price, and they always match / beat prices for me.

£16 at LCE.
£25 at Wex

Might be useful to somebody else. Amazon has it for £17.71 Prime.

I went today, I didn't think there was as much to see as in previous years, no deals that caught my eye either.

No where near as busy as it has been in previous years either which was good, I'm not bothered about Covid, it was just nice to be able to have a proper look at things without being in people way...

I could have gone all 4 days, but was ill yesterday, not so great today. Tomorrow would be afternoon only and Tuesday morning only. After reading comments and reports, I might give it a miss. 3 hours in the car to grope a Z6 II and speak to <redacted> face to face is making me think a bit...

Wow that's a statment  :$

Sweet. At the time of purchase it's the best price but cool. I usually look on HKUD too but needed them today. There's a "fun" phrase on that forum though... I'll just get my time machine then.
