Photo52 2011 - Join In !!! - Week 52 and special bonus out now -

I know what you mean Tina, it's like someone has the fast forward button on time. It's like it only feels like yesterday my daughter started her first year at school and we are fast approaching the summer holidays. Where has this time gone!!??

Hey I am with you on this one ..... the weeks just seem to fly past.

Beauty is, by doing this photo52 we are encapsulating time ..... despite how fast it seems to be passing.

Hopefully, at the end of the year, we will all look back and see time 'in slow motion'.

It may seem like it is fleeting us at the moment .... at times I feel like I am in a time warp ..... which takes me back to my final assembly at school .... theme was ..... Rocky Horror .... say no more ;);)

Having said that ..... I think we have a great team here .....

The spirit and participation is high and we have got to know each other, in a round about way .... some good and some bad :D

But hell, we are all on a mission ...... and that is what counts.

Personally, I don't know what I would do without you guys and gals ..... you have become a major part of my life ..... and will be for the rest of the year .... so heaven help you :p

Just had a thought that it might be a good idea to have some sort of collation of images at the half way mark. Week 24 will be upon us tomorrow so only 2 more before we start our 52 part two threads.
What I was thinking was a slideshow of images going from week 1 through to 26. Anyone who doesn't want their images used can simply not submit them. Or anyone who just wants some displayed can submit however many they want (max 1 for each theme for those of us who have posted more than 1 image for any given theme)

What do you think? worth doing?

Not sure where such a slideshow could be hosted but if enough think it's worth doing I'm happy to look into it, even if it just means creating the slideshow and distributing it among ourselves.

Also happy to be the one to collate images and create the slideshow, although how good a job I'd do is anyones guess. Also happy for someone else to take on these roles.

Like it....I've done them before. Just created a slideshow and uploaded it to Youtube.

As far as I know Smoothedit hosts the slideshow from last years TPDay himself, unfortunately I don't have the facility for that. However Andy's youtube solution would be the simplest. The making of the slideshow is not a problem as there are many software solutions which make the process fairly straightforward.

I'll wait and see what everyone thinks. If enough think it's a good idea I would suggest whoever does the slideshow (be it me or another volunteer) sets up an email address for the images to be sent to, that way only those who want to take part do. Will also allow us to choose which shots to submit.
 
Great idea James and by far the easiest to implement. Only downside would be the order of the slideshow would be somewhat chaotic. I also envisaged attaching peoples names to the images and each theme separated. But I don't suppose that really matters.

I think this sounds like a fantastic idea :thumbs: I'd be game to join in .... I'll let others volunteer to take the lead on this as my computer is still a bit iffy and I'm a bit short on time at the moment. But would like to take part ... it would be great to see a slide show of the shots we have taken.

Hi everyone, sounds like a great idea indeed. The flickr group sounds like a great idea. I will gladly supply my pics. I would be very grateful to anyone who sets this up, I will have to sit back and enjoy the result, I'm not feeling to good at the moment, plus I have a dental operation coming up in the next few weeks.

Also, I think I'm behind in commenting on all of your 52's for this week, so I apologize if I have not commented. We are all doing so well with these projects, and I shall take this opportunity to thank 1 and all for the critique, comments and everything else we share every week :clap::thumbs:

Also, I'm not sure if I have posted this before, but there are a lot of people using this new site http://500px.com/ It is full of amazing images and the quality is brilliant. It's great to use along side flickr, and it's great for having all of your best shots in one place. You can also create portfolios on there to.

Thanks for the link ..... I had a quick look and wow there are some amazing photos there.

I too am looking forward to the new theme .... although I'm not sure if I will take my computer with me camping tomorrow as it has been causing me too much grief this week. But then I don't want to miss out on finding out what the new theme is .... so will probably take it with just to sign for the theme. Who knows .... maybe what the computer needs a a bit of R&R away too :D

Got your invite and uploaded my pictures; one for each week.
It was good to see all of our pictures in the slide show, mine reminded me of the past 23 weeks of my life, thankfully most were good memories, apart from 'Paradox'. It was good see some of your earlier ones too, I'd forgotten about the snail shell for sale, I really liked that take one.

The slide show didn't show the theme or who took the image, can we do that in flickr?
 
At the top of the slideshow is an option to show info and the bottom right has a full screen toggle. I've also added a link to the combined slideshow in my signature.

Only problem with the flickr photostream/slideshow is it displays in the order uploaded which means that the themes aren't grouped. Can't figure out a way to rearrange this other than getting everyone to upload one week at a time. Wish we had came up with this idea on week 1! If anyone has any idea on this let me know.
At least once we are all uploaded and up to date they will be grouped for the second half if we upload week by week.
Maybe set up another group for weeks 26 through 52?

Oh yes, I see it now!

Other than the ones taken at home, my photos are on my map, which we can see in the group too. It would be interesting to see where people have taken their shots.
 
Thanks Colin, got the invite and joined onto the group, will get round to adding the photos. As you have created the group, can you do something with the order in organize and create, just like you would a normal set, that way you can drag and change the order of the photos added?
 
Unfortunately all my info is removed from my images during pp so mine don't show up on the map.

Michael, I tried the organize and create but it just takes me to my personal photostream to edit that.

Also think we should continue further discussion on the group. Here

Great idea Colin...I'll pm you my flickr name when I remember what it is ! I think all my 52's are in a folder on there already...I named them week 1 week 2 etc etc so they stayed in order....would that help with what you're trying to do ??

Just been on to flickr & sent request to join that way :-)

I'm with you on this one .....camping ..... rain, no bright sky ..... this could be a mission! impossible !!! However .... I am with a 6 year old son who is as bright as a button at the moment .... he was awarded a certificate for the best writing on Friday and is ace at maths at the moment .... so maybe he should feature in this week :lol:

Since this weeks theme was announced, it's been raining constantly with heavy dark clouds. Time to be all cliché and get some light bulbs out :D
