Photo52 2011 - Join In !!! - Week 52 and special bonus out now -

Would be really good to get some meets sorted , nice to spend a few hours with like minded folk so we can pick brains & ask daft questions face to face . Maybe even get some hints & tips from the more experienced peeps ?

Could divide the country by bands upwards or in to 1/4's ?

Yep 100% with what you say .... could be great to meet others who are as mad as us to take on such a challenge

Think the 1/4's could be good, or a North/South divide, whichever works for all.

If Posiviews coming I guess it'll need to be near a Costa :D

 I'll be at that one if he can get us loyalty discount :D

Cheers

Dawn :)

How about posting a thread within the main 52 area as I get the feeling that many will not look here for a possible meet up ?

May be one of the Mods can make it a sticky? or whatever you call it so it stays at the top . Would be easier to ask who's interested, where they are & what days would be easiest for peeps

Just a thought , let me know

In for a penny in for a pound...im going to dive in with the 52 as well. I'll play catchup from week 1 if thats ok. Might very likely miss the odd week cause of shifts, but i'll do me best

Nice one, trust me, you'll have a blast...;)

And you'll have weeks when you wonder...why oh, why?
And then you'll see something and think WOW

Welcome

I'm actually considering starting this, I know it's March already but better late than never :)

I'm actually considering starting this, I know it's March already but better late than never :)

The month doesn't matter. Just start from this week, if you want to do the first 9 weeks of this year as well then you can. If not do the first 9 weeks of next and thats 52, or keep going.

Wooohooo!!! Emma that is great news :) It will be fab if you start this ... you might find that you already have some pics to fit in with the previous weeks which you could use.

Or you could do as the others have suggested.

If you're in the office tomorrow we can have a quick natter about your starting this project.

 I better be careful now about what I say to my team on the ideas I have for each new theme  ..... no it will be great if you join, I will then have someone to bounce ideas off at the office.

Chat to you soon.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Thanks for the new theme's Sarah

This may seem a bit dim....with the reshoot theme...is it supposed to be a shoot of the same image shot before but an " improved " version or can it be the same theme with a different image ?

Hiya all,

Thanks Sarah for the announcement of week 11 .....

Re-shoot  ....... already did that in week 1 (so unless I can think of another to re-shoot, barring the flowers which will not be possible as they are now replaced with new ones) .....

So I may have to go with KNOWLEDGE (of which I am battling with at the moment after the hectic week I have had )

However, I am sure I will think of something.

Look forward to seeing all the pics for this week, which should be an interesting one :D

Cheers

Dawn :)

Entirely up to you :)
I suppose re-shooting the same subject would give you the opportunity to show what you've learnt, but it isn't always practical. Last year most people just re-visited an old theme that they weren't happy with and shot what they wished they'd done for it.

Guys,

Apologies again. Been working away quite a bit the last few weeks - and been doing some weekend working too. That means I've mostly been stuck on a work laptop that takes forever to load up image threads (especially the 52 threads which have more than one image in)

Got a big sign off on the project I'm working on Wednesday and then I should have some more free time to pop into all your threads and try to get back up to date with my own one.

Gutted. I have not done finish or trio and now another subject is out :(. I am going to catch up this week.

Hiya all 52'ers

Wow so here we are in week 11 and what fun it has been so far. I am thoroughly enjoying my time here and have learned so much over the past weeks/months.

You are all doing a fantastic job with your projects and I look forward to keeping up with your progress.

I popped past the spreadsheet today (which I had myself failed to keep updated the last 2 weeks) and I thought it might be an idea to do a bit of housekeeping on the document.

If you are making use of the spreadsheet, please could you pop past and update it with the weeks you have completed (as I just don't have the time at the moment to visit each thread to check where folk are up to).

At the end of this week, I will revisit the document and organise it so that the folk who are actively involve appear to the top of the sheet, so that they don't get missed because they appear lower down the page.

I hope you are all in agreement with this idea.

The spreadsheet can be located via this link: https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AhTphN7dSXDadEtvTm5idXo2ajZTOVI5Qy01VU10a1E&hl=en_GB&authkey=CK7rjrAE

BTW, thanks to whoever is updating each column with the relevant theme  I'm glad to see someone is on the ball :D

Keep up the good work everyone and good luck with the rest of the project.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Hi all,

Great to see all the new shots coming through, sorry i have done much commenting will try and improve that :-p

I do have a small request though, it would be good if we could all post links to each weeks theme in the first post of our own thread, it just make reading/viewing them easier. And i notice a lot of people just link the post URL and while thats good it only opens a new tab/window of that post.

If you use the following code:

Code:
[post=3286692]Week 1 Accommodation[/ post]
(- the space between the / and post and the end)

So it would look like this [post=3286692]Week 1 Accommodation[/post] in you opening post.

All you need to do is edit the post= to the post number of you latest submission and the bit between the square brackets ] [ to the week and theme.

This code then jumps to that post while keeping the rest of the thread making it easier to read comments. If you click my link you will see what i mean.

Just an idea, i'm a bit of a neat freak when it comes to this sort of thing :-)

Does that make sense? Let me know what you think.

James

Brilliant James. It annoyed me when I linked mine that it opened the single post but I was too lazy to investigate further.
I knew that if I was patient enough someone would walk me through it.

Good idea vdubster, makes perfect sense to do it that way. Will be on it as soon as my computer is back on at the weekend.
Nice one.

Thanks for the reminder there Dawn, just updated all my subscribed threads, must get more methodical :$ I will be around folks and am but rather random, will try to be more consistent.

Hiya Tina,

You are welcome :)

I think you are doing a great job supporting and encouraging other 52'ers and also a grand job with your own 52, so don't for one minute think you are being "random" as you put it ..... you are a valuable and important part of this team ;)

Hugs

Dawn :)

Thanks Dawn, that's a good idea helping those still active in the 52 not to missed.

Martin

Hiya Martin,

Thanks, but I won't take all the credit for the idea, it was Posiview who PM'd me a while back with the suggestion, so thanks to Andy for flagging it.

I should hopefully get a bit of time on Friday to do the spreadsheet housekeeping (unfortunately don't have time at the moment as I have such a busy week both at work and in the evenings processing photos from Saturday's event).

But I think it needs to be done, especially as the dust is now settling after the mad rush at the start of the 52.

Always open to suggestion and comments anyone might have on how to improve the spreadsheet.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Hiya James,

Thanks for the link and information, I might have to revisit my OP with a similar link as I think my links take one to the actual post. But then again I always find it handy to have two windows of TP open when I am commenting.

Cheers

Hi everyone, I seem to be running a little behind this week, been suffering with migraines and am really tired. So hopefully I will catch up with the threads, and bring mine upto date as well before the weeks out.

Hi Michael,

Sorry to hear you have not been too well. I know about the tired feeling, I am absolutely shattered and think I will have an early night for a change.

Hope you feel better soon and look forward to your catch up pics.

Cheers

Hiya Dawn and Tina, thanks for your well wishes. Starting to feel a little better, I'm about to update my 52 shortly, ahead of tomorrow, which will be a hectic day, my daughter has got ballet practice, a swimming lesson and a friends birthday party all spread out across tomorrow!!!

James,

Not sure if I've missed something here.
I revise mine to match yours (with my post number!), but it doesn't take me to the post!
However, if I use the following it does
URL="http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=3508415&post3508415"]Week 11 - Knowledge & Re-shoot[/URL

first and last bracket has been removed to show code!

Dawn - I'll try and remember to update the spreadsheet

Hiya Neil,

Thanks, I was hoping to do the spreadsheet housekeeping yesterday, but have too much work on the go at the moment .... so hopefully will do it in the next day or two.

Cheers

Dawn :)

Neil,

If you press the edit button on your first post what does the link look like?

It should to you only look like this:

Code:
[post=3286692]Week 1 Accommodation[/ post]

where of course the post number will be yours and not mine and not a long url address.

your week 3 would look like this

Code:
[post=3344480]Week 3 Style[/ post]

and make this [post=3344480]Week 3 Style[/post]

So make sure they look like that with the correct post number (to get that just got to the post and on the right hand side click the the post number then in the page that open copy the post number from the url) i know that sounds a lot of messing about but once you start doing it, it will take seconds.

Hope that help.

J

You start your own thread here Have a look at a few and you'll see how it works ;)

Enjoy, I've already learnt a lot and am trying to implement this :$ Varying levels of success
Thanks Tina.

Can I also ask what this weeks theme is?

It's just a bit confusing with all these threads hanging around with all the different weeks..... for a newbie anyway.

Always in the first post of this thread, in fact you will find all of them to date there. Sara posts them each Saturday evening...usually before I've posted the previous one :$

Then we all rush around each others threads giving what critique we can and learning from it all "Eureka"
