Another recommendation for photo-guard, had one claim around 4 years ago (dropped camera into river), and they paid up with no hassle.
Avoid E&L, they won't pay up if you have gear taken from the 'boot' of a hatchback, unless the back seats are 'locked'. So that means around 60 % of cars in the UK are not covered, even though they state the policy covers theft from a vehicle. There was a big splash in one of the photomags about this issue with E&L a couple of years ago, this didn't stop Amateur Photographer continuing to include E&L promotional leaflets in their publications....hypocrites .
Photo-guard (and others) do cover you for theft from a boot of a hatchback, even though the rear seats can't be secured to prevent access.
