Daily Phil's 2013 365 challenge 1/1/2013 All Done!!!!!!!!

Day 89. I visited this location almost 2 weeks hoping the daffodils would be well out but i was disappointed. Decided to go down this evening feeling sure they would now be much better. they weren't! What is up with this weather:(

That building looks as sad as the Daffs- are those windows boarded up or are there heavy drapes up there? It actually works well in that respect, what should look in it's prime doesn't and all that.

The weather is really holding everything back now, the blossom on the trees in the park had started to come out, but has just stopped, just like your daffodils there, they are just waiting for the spring that is meant to appear.

Hi Sam. This is our local National Trust property, the house is closed over the winter but is well looked after otherwise.

Yes Sarah, the weather is just a pain!

It's still a nice shot Phil! They should be out in the next 2 weeks!

Thanks Jake.

Day 90. This is Pollnagollum cave and waterfall. The waterfall falls 12 meters and the cave runs around 350 meters into the mountain. I had hoped for a few good shots but the light was poor, there wasnt much water falling and I came home disappointed and feeling rubbish about my again photography!

Day 87 - great light trails and loving the sky in that shot too

Day 88 - weather still pants at the moment and for me that shot reflects it well

Day 89 - nice waterfall shot, and I too agree with Sarah, certainly nothing wrong with your photography fella.

Your photography is not a problem here, there is a lack of water, but you've captured what was there perfectly. You could add a bit to the greens and detail to boost them in PS, but otherwise I really like this.

Thanks Sarah. I took 100 shots yesterday of 4 different waterfalls and decided when i got home that they were all rubbish. Just one of those days.

Nice work Phil , I agree with Sarah.

Thanks Vince

Cheers for all the comments Simon

Very jealous of the snow covered mountains....

I see you are another who keeps pheasants in his garden ;)

Cheers

If anyone has a few mins spare would you take a look through a series of shots of waterfalls and cascades that I took on Sunday on a day out with the wife and give me your honest opinion. I came home and looked through them and was really disappointed but she says I am being too critical. they are here http://www.flickr.com/photos/philblair/8610436783/

Phil, please take a look on flickr at my comments and favourites, as I thought it was easier than trying to cross reference file names. I think it's a great set. A bit of cloning will clean some up a treat.

I like the waterfall shot and certainly think you are being very hard on yourself over it - I agree with Sarah's comments.

I had a look at some of your other photos on Flickr and it looks as though there really is a lack of water (would you believe it after our weather recently!) and also as though it was a fairly dull day? I would have been very pleased with this set. I love the ones of the river (or weir). I agree with your wife! :)

Wow very lovely Phil and I also agree with your wife, you are being way way too hard on yourself! Those photos are gorgeous

91 uninspired!!! PAH! I really like it, and the daffs. I'll have a look at your waterfall shots when I get home.
You are obviously very self critical, which in my opinion is not a bad thing! But sometimes we can be too hard on ourselves.

Really like day 88 and 89. have to say that I am most unimpressed with the lack of daffodils over here too :(

Thanks to Jake and Sam for looking over these for me. Cheers Jake for the comments on Flickr.

Stunning. That is all.

Thanks Jake

Ta Sarah. I always come across so many great shots on here and flickr and it makes my own look so poor in comparison.

You cant have everything Sarah. U were probably standing in beautiful sunshine today, i was fighting my way through 3 ft of snow!

Day 93. I'm a day behind at the minute so this is yesterdays. I was planting my spuds yesterday evening and this wee chap was keeping an eye on proceedings. This is quite a crop of a 500mm shot so not the sharpest.

Robin looks pretty good to me, but I am on my notebook :(

Day 91 - Like the isolated feel of the shot fella, excellent dof and detail.

Day 92 - Just an amazing shot of the daffs.

Day 93 - Cracking shot of the Robin, like the composition of the shot.

Day 94 - A stunning set of shots.

Day 95 - Again a great set of shots.

Finally you're wife is correct....b****r all wrong with those waterfall shots, they're cracking matey :D

Well I've finally made it in here to have a catch up and I've got to say it was well worth the wait though I'd have loved to have got in here sooner, I love Jemima sat there  a family friend owns a couple of nursing homes one of which is near the river in Stratford-upon-Avon and every year for the last about 10 years one of the hanging baskets right by the front door of the nursing home has been taken over by the ducks for a nest  the snow scenes are just wonderful  nice to see some more signs of spring at long last

Oh my! Double wow Phil! I love your snowy mountain photos they are gorgeous
How long does it take to walk up them?

Thanks for the feedback Simon.

I love your first from the amazing set from the Mountains! My trip tomorrow has been cancelled :(
Great set of the birds too!

Thanks Jake. Sorry to hear your trip is off, it is looking like a weekend of blue skies and would be great for the mountains.

Thanks for stopping by Matt, glad you like them.

Thanks T. From the carpark at sea level to the summit of the highest mountain in the Mournes, Slieve Donard at 850 meters is about 3.5 miles and we can do it in about 1.5 hours. The challenge we are doing for Cancer Research in August summits this one and then the next 6 highest in the Mournes range covering 18 miles in total.

Well, I've just had a look through the shots on flickr and yes, you are being very self critical, presonally I think they are good set, the water has been done very well, it has movement & the whites have not blown at all & they are all crisp and well exposed.
Love the robin with the spud planting, still can't capture any in my garden :(
Snowy mountain shots, I just love them.
Buzzards, wow, they are amazing to watch, ok little bit in the distance, but the shapes are fantastic
Your 365 is diverse, interesting and well photographed, I really enjoy looking in on it.

Thankyou very much for all the kind comments Sarah. Much appreciated.

Day 96. Tried to catch some of the starlings today that are starting to build their nests around my yard. This one wouldn't play ball and stayed at the wrong side of the hedge for me to catch him right.

I really like that he's behind it, Phil. I'm not sure why.. the bottom adds an extra... something to it!
