Daily Phil's 2013 365 challenge 1/1/2013 All Done!!!!!!!!

Jess is lovely Phil , Nice shot

Thanks Vince

Aww, she just looks so huggable ♥

She looks like she has dandruff! And I changed my thread title for you too Sarah!

She's a beaut! Nicely captured!

Thanks Jake

That cat has definitely refined 'the look' - mine does that when he's disgusted with me, which seems to be often! OH tried it once...... he won't be doing THAT again!:lol:

Jess is a real beauty - love that shot of her :)

Thanks Sam. I do feel sorry for your husband though!

Now that is a much sweeter expression :)

I know Sarah. Thats why I appreciate dogs much more than cats!

Day 80. I think this shot best portrays the kind of day i had in the mountains today. Without sounding too dramatic, it was the kind of day someone could die up there. I dont think i have ever experienced such a cold strong wind before. When i eventually got to the summit of Slievenaglogh standing straight was impossible due to the wind and the frozen snow that was being pelted against me was horrendous. I have never seen my 2 dogs looking so unhappy! This shot was on the way back down again following the Mourne Wall and you can see the snow being blown past me and over the wall. You can see the wall go up Slieve Bernagh on the left and then just about make it out going up Slieve Meelbeg in the background right. I might stick a few more shots from today up later on when i get a chance to go through them. I had hoped the cloud would clear more and maybe the sun break through but it didnt happen.

Oh, wow, today's is amazing...I love that clarity of the wall nearest to us against the white, white and more white, but also that you can follow the rest of the wall all that way across. You are nuts, though! :D I'd have been trying to get a signal on my phone a googling helicopters-r-us for a pick-up back down!

Yeah, Yeah, my HUSBAND told me I HAVE to!!!:lol::lol::razz:

It did look pretty challenging though, but isn't it a great feeling when you make it back down and sit warming up thinking where you stood not so long ago?!!

Wow - that does look very savage up there, bet you were glad to get back home :) Some beautiful shots and the contrast between these snow ones and some of the others you have posted is amazing.

Thanks Sarah. The contrast between summer and winter up there is amazing.
Unfortunately I need to forget about hiking now except for the odd Sunday and knuckle down and get a bit of work done and money earned. I have been very lazy this week!

Really enjoyed looking through your last group of images, you must be bonkers going up there in that, way too cold :) But it's resulted in some wonderful images, so maybe not bonkers at all. Don't think I can choose a favourite from them as I like them all.

Thanks Sarah. I didnt get the light I had hoped for as the cloud stayed fairly low and the sun never broke through but at least the visibility was better than last Sunday when it was about 50m! Already planning a return this Sunday when this storm blows over:D

phil...my jaw dropped when i saw the mountainous snow shots..... I want to go i thought... just for the view maybe... but also the starkness you captured.

Day 81. Big night here, i'm making marmalade! I always loved my mums home made marmalade and when i left home i started to make my own. My wife thinks im mad but i dont care.

Day 82. I went out for a walk this afternoon with the dogs, grey skies and trying to rain didnt help. My choices when i got back were either this, an oof blackbird or an oof fungus. The slightly oof flower won!

Lovely, just boiling up there - yum!

P.S. Don't send me any plz,thx!!

It's never 'soft' Phil [as an aside, I can't believe I thought I could type that and not laugh my head off!!]....it has a soft and romantic feel to it [actually, once again.....]

Contrast and focus between the subject and BG could be better as you said, but I like the feel of the photo and the colours are nice and vibrant. I quite like it!

Love the angle on the house and daffodils  and Jess is beautiful :)

WOW you would have thought it would be the other way around wouldnt you? but yet again we are in a part of the world where the weather changes its mind more often than a woman is supposed to  Beautiful shots though Phil :)

Great photos. Good job.

(Can't take the p out of me for that, can you, eh? eh?)

Wow, I know you're all fed up of the snow now, but it doesn't half make for some dramatic pictures :)

Love todays shot
