Two great shots for the two themes.
Number - yep a crowbar needed indeed! (It'd've been funny if it was a crow in flight). Great shot of a bird in flight, so sharply focused.
Strong - I like what you've done there. Nice use of an action figure and the mints. It works. It's not my favourite of your shots, the bird works more for me but this fits its theme better!
You could always PS your head onto the body
Great idea and well composed![]()
Hey Phil
Shape - Well spotted, good random shapes indeed, the prints add some much needed interest, theme done :thumbs
Strong - hahaha that's excellent
I love shots like this with a twist, a clever idea, background looks good on my tablet, well set, up and lit well with a tad of shadow to ground the subjects on the white - Like It![]()
Number - lovely use of the crowbar and a nice shot of the kittiwake good composition.
Strong - lovely fun take for the theme, well presented and thought out super work.
Nice clear crisp image for Strong... and a jovial take on it... well done...
It's been said ...
Number & Strong![]()
Good one Phileverything has been said so I won't add

HI Phil, strong love it a good clean image with a touch of humour
Craig
Action - Both good action shots. Get catch to get the paragliders so close.
Mono - I like the composition of the image but would prefer a bit more contrast in the final image
Twisted - I do like this one especially with the small DoF. I'm being really picky by saying I'd go for the focus being a third into the image on the left rather than the right. But that is being picky. Good exposure on the whites BTW
Fresh - OMG - Definitely fresh. Good thinking for the theme. One to print and put on the lounge wall ?
Shape - Not doing much for me I'm afraid.
Number - Nice shot of the bird. Good use of the space on the right for the bird to fly in to
Strong - As you say on theme. The lighting looks good with a hint of shadow underneath both subjects
Fresh - OMG - Definitely fresh. Good thinking for the theme. One to print and put on the lounge wall ?

Texture, plenty of textures in there, maybe too many
Wild. Well captured, good detail, and perspective.
Pity about the uneven colour in the BGS.
Cheers.
Two great shots and strangely interchangeable for the themes! I know what you mean about keeping up with comments, I tend to spend an hour or so going down the list of new posts after I've posted my weekly effort, but I get easily distracted![]()
Hi, like the caterpillar pic, not really sure about the first one plenty of texture in the rocks but those houses on top of the cliff are annoying me
Hi there...lots of texture in the first pic...but I love the little caterpillar, I hope he turns into a beautiful butterfly...he looks quite grumpy.
I too like wild... great DOF...
Now it's been mentioned, I do keep looking at the houses and wanting to clone them out. Great detail in the caterpillar shot, looks like my hair in the morning![]()
.........if you know what I mean
Hi Phil,
plenty texture in the Flamborough shot, and i love the caterpillar shot![]()
like the cliffs Phil, no way ta have removed them in-camera, going forward an bit and then dropping right down to get the foreground rocks still in, but not obscuring the cliffs, but loosing the houses atop the clif??
Hard to see it when your there - easy to suggest it aftwerwards!!
Caterpillar, nice catch, you have the wide open problem, same as I do...... It's left you with too shallow a DOF here (IMO), Try a few at higher ISO, which will let you reduce the aperture, once you find out what ISO is acceptable for you, (in terms of noise / detail / priniting big) you have more leeway for higher shutter / smaller aperture for the future!
(As an example, I just got this back, printed only 6" x 4", but even at ISO 6400 it gives a really nice print for the album!)
Texture - nice composition and I can see plenty of nice textures going on.
Wild - nice furry looking beasty and nice POF and DOF.
HI Phil - Texture a nice image but agree with the houses being a tad annoying
Wild - good close up an DOF
Hi Phil
Texture...nice enough image but not holding my attention I'm afraid...sorry
Wild....Love it..great DOF , good colors & great POV![]()
Thanks LynneTexture - There's certainly texture in the rocks.
Wild - Super super shot. The shallow DOF really concentrates the viewer on the head of the caterpillar. Definitely a winner for me.

Hi Phil.....having been married to a keen angler for over thirty years I fully understand the sentiment behind the first oneit looks absolutely fine on my main computer screen but it does look dark on this tablet, they do seem to vary a lot, I can see a really marked difference. Anyway, I think its a great shot for dream.
Vertical, well, you couldn't find better, and I love the dark silhouette against the sunset.
Hi Phil, I'm struggling to pull enough detail from the blacks with my eyes / monitor combo (it could be either of these which is the problem, mind!)
First is quite a bit too dark, if it hadn;t been the tips of the rods, I wouldnt have seen anything there.

I've had similar problems to this before and can only put it down to mi cheap lappy that I've had for a couple of years.....it was taken at 10.10pm (although the exif says 9.10pm, I didn't move the time on mi camera to BST
Hi Phil, I'm struggling to pull enough detail from the blacks with my eyes / monitor combo (it could be either of these which is the problem, mind!) Otherwise, I like the composition with the framing of the trees and the reflection. Does it need a tiny tweak of straightening or is that my eyes again??
I like the second shot, but being honest would prefer the composition is flipped vertically (not the image!) with sky 1/3 and grass 2/3. I like the lines created by the shadows and would prefer to see more of them than the empty sky. But then it might not suit the theme as well...
Bottom one is simple and pretty clean (both good features btw!) - I like the sky and the silhouette. It might also look good in landscape with more negative space and all of the guylines visible?
Nice pictures!

Fields are failrly dreamy, late summer evenings always are
and that mast coudnt be more vertical, like the slither of ground and the colour n the sky... My fave of the three.![]()

Hi Phil,
I like all three of your pictures,
Dream... the fishing one i like it is a tad dark but the water has a slightly misty smooth look and quite dreamy in its selfand the country side and clouds are what dreams are made of.
Vertical... is a super shot, the vapour trails and sunset , great![]()
I like the first one of the bunch Phil, I think it s got good potential. it defiantly fits the theme, I can imaging quite a few people dreaming to get there when they are stuck at work! I think a little bit of light painting with a torch around the rods would make it pop a bit more, but overall a nice image.
I think I have to agree with this, except I'm not married to an angler of any kind (nor am I one)...
Hi, the 4 square thingy is great
Dreamy, never really got fishing but the older I get the more appealing it it becomes.
Yeah, I can see dreamy.
Vertical. On theme, with good detail and nice sunset.
Cheers.
..............Dream/dreamy - the first images also works for me, the composition is good tho just a teensy weenie we bit dark.
Vertical - fits the theme, lovely sunset and the simplicity works.
Haven't been fishing for a few years, but would certainly dream of going there
I quite like the mast shot, the contrasting clouds and the sunset/rise do make the shot stand out.
Hi, excellent image for vertical obviously the right time to take the pic silhouette really works well with that sky![]()
