Not that I'm one for celeb gossip but just on BBC site and saw this. No details but I just kind of thought wow- 25. Such a young age. Don't know much about her really other than who her father is but think she has children so overall seems a bit of a waste of life whatever the circumstances and yet more tragedy for the overall family.
 
Yep i have just seen it on fb/bbc site too, it's sad :(
 
How horrible. Have seen her and her family in Wrotham village several times (it's close to my work). They seemed like a happy regular family.
My heart goes out to the children.

Regardless of what happened,it's very sad for her family. Poor girl.
 
I feel such sorrow for her father in particular, when you know his whole life story!
 
Extremely tragic.

My 4yo son died in my arms in 1999 but I have a 22yo daughter. I know first hand what this feels like for the family. You have to move on but it takes time to accept such a death (my wife couldn't, hence her behaviour led to divorce).

I find it difficult not to shed a tear for them.

Horrible news.

I hope the family get the privacy they deserve during such a terrible time. (However unlikely)
 
Read this on the BBC site. Very sad. What pusses me off was that it seemed to focus on bob and not her husband and children.

Tragic loss for the family :(

Assmuming [and I don't know] her hubby and definitely her kids are not 'personalities' [hubby was in a band, but doesn't look like made it to Boomtown Rats levels of fame], focusing on Bob, whilst not ideal is actually probably far better right now. He will also want privacy but on balance is better equipped to deal with the inevitable press intrusion. :(
 
Tragic, terrible.

I'm trying to work out why this has affected me so much. I feel real sadness - keep welling up.

That's not me normally.

Maybe it's because I feel I've sort of grown up with Bob.
 
I detest Bob Geldof with a passion but I wouldn't wish this on anyone. No parent should outlive their children. Nothing could be worse than losing a child. RIP.

How can an unexplained death not be suspicious?

means they havent yet determined the cause , but there are no overtly suspicious circumstances - no sign of other parties being present etc
 
yeah, i guess it's the use of the word "unexplained"

it means what it says - they jst haven't got an explanation yet.

But it makes it sound like there will be no explanation. Which isn't whats meant by the term used.

Natural causes?

Very sad for the whole family.
 
report as an unexplained death usually means no overt cause - ie they didnt find a suicide note, evidence of a drug overdose, there were no reported health issues and so forth

exactly this, more often than not it's as yet unknown natural causes in the absence of any obvious 'suspicious' ones such as suicide, murder, unintentional overdose, etc. It could of course still be one of those, but they will await a coroners report.
 
Young apparently healthy people die suddenly and unexpectedly every day. No suspicious circumstances, nothing sinister. ..just tragedies.
 
So sad to hear this, I know she was a 'wild child' but we've all had our wild times no doubt. The fact she is so young and leaves her two children, who are both too young to be able to remember her properly in the future. My thoughts are with all her family and friends. RIP Peaches.
 
Also, the death can only be described as "unexplained" until the official results of an autopsy are found which of course would be expected to explain the cause of death.

If the deceased has not been to a hospital or been diagnosed as having a life threatening illness within a set period (10 days IIRC), then I believe that an autopsy/post mortem is compulsory. At least that's how it was when my son died in 1999.

As far as I remember (that period is somewhat blurred and the details, especially as I took on Great Ormond Street Hospital in The High Court) parental consent has to applied for too - I may be wrong about that detail.

My understanding from following this is that Peaches never got over her mothers suicide and decided to take her own life in the same way her mother did.

So basically, have a couple of kids of her own and put them in the same position. Nice.
 
I cant comment on what it is like to lose a parent in this manner, so have no idea what was going through her head.

What I do know though, is that I could never put my child through the same bad experiences I have had. Just strikes me as extremely selfish. I appreciate that may come across as harsh, but I make no apologies.

I obviously feel for her family, especially the kids.
 
The inquest of her friend Freddy McConnel, 18, who died of a drugs overdose in 2011, heard that he had written in his diary a few months earlier: “Peaches is coming over later and I am going to inject for the first time. Perhaps I will die. I hope I don’t.”

and still they don't have the brains of a bean and start to inject this poison into their veins.

And the story goes that there was none of the usual heroin taking paraphernalia found in the house by the police/ambulance people leading to the suggestion that the house had been cleaned before any help was called for. If true, that is just crazy.

Tragic outcome.

I wonder how many of the young celebrities that die from overdoses are pressured into the habit by nasty 'hangers on'.

Any parent that takes a drug like this is hugely selfish.

Poor Bob and the children, now suffering because of someone else's bad lifestyle choice.

Definitely a horrible disease, but entirely preventable.

I wonder if the family knew about it and were trying to help?

Someone within her circle must have known / supplied her.
