Are we still arguing about this?
For the record pc doesn't have to be ugly, some very nice black alu cases out there.
on the flip side, no design/graphics dept worth their salt will use glossy screens.
personally i hate gloss, its like trying to work on a mirror.
but how much do they cost?

Gone are the days of horrid beige base units.

to behonest if you going to bootcamp and run windows on a Mac then i don't see the whole point. If you want to use Mac than stick with Mac and if you want window then stick with PC.
They both have their use and it doesn't effect performance of using Photoshop and Lightroom to behonest.
Like someone mention, if you want a all rounder station then get PC ....... to me Mac is only for work purpose. Even at home if i do work i won't even bother turn my mac on, just use window .......
Hardware is cheaper to upgrade on PC as well and make upgrade alot cheaper.

As much or as little as you want to spend.

i guess you havent seen the dell ultrasharp range then?

Not doubting that for one minute. Ours does, we have a floor full of them which I help support.
Sorry Neil, I should have read the whole thread before commenting. I honestly didn't know that you could get a non-glossy version. Are these special order or available to us home users?

Does that include
27 ISP Monitor
Wire less keyboard (and not a platictic clickty clack one)
Wireles mouse
wifi
bluetooth
web cam
Mic
2 x USB3 (as oposed to thunderbolt)
Speakers
SD card slot
OS
And can I just have just ONE cable coming out the back to a power socket, Oh I don't have room on or under my desk for a big box. Also I don't do DIY I want to unpack one box, plug it in and go, without spending time installing the OS .
It's been a Loooooooong time since the mac mouse only had one button, in fact it was even before I owned a mac
so the mac mouse you currently get with the imac has more than just the one button. must have changed it since my bro in laws imac arrived then

Yet Apple briefly became the biggest company in the USA on Tuesday when market value rose to $341.5 billion (which is weird for a company that has not paid a dividend to share holders for a decade or more), love them or hate them, they have got something right.
marketing, pricing, image.. i suspect at a guess their growth is more to do with their mobile devices rather than their computers however.
you'd be surprised. Apple's pc share is growing faster than any of the competition

interesting read..
so if im reading that right (not enough caffine this morning) the mobile devices kick started the computer sales by introducing people to the brand and its matching look and feel.
very clever.
in the same way that sony building blu-ray into its latest console was a smart move.
If you get a product you really like there's a good chance you'll buy something else from that company.
Mobile devices are going to be a huge problem for Microsoft, as people start to use iOS and Android they realizes they have a choice and they don't need to use windows.
I would be very surprised if Google don't enter the computing hardware market at some stage with a tablet at least, just have they have now bought the mobile phone side of Motorola to have the hardware/software for their own phone, they will do the same for the gPad![]()

to behonest, microsoft don't really need to make mobile device to success in the industry. They already took a huge chunk of the market and it will stay like that for a long period of time.
define huge chunk?
microsoft share fell this year from 8% to 5.8% of the mobile OS market
you call less than 6% of the market a huge chunk?
I think you need to read carefully on what i wrote and maybe i didn't write it up clearly on my last statement.
Microsoft don't need to make or enter the mobile device at all, they already a leading company around the world. They didn't do so well on mobile device but on actual computer, server etc they beat many company down.

Also I think you'll find that windows market share is dropping each year and Mac OS and Google Chrome is gaining. Microsoft can't sit back and do nothing, they still need to innovate to stay ahead of the game
