I've had a day from hell at work, but I've decided to sell all my Canon gear, that's it!

Yep, the prices they've been going for recently with the Panny cashback is silly low... As someone said you're getting a GF3 kit for less than the list price of the lens it comes with :bonk:samems said:Is the GF3 with a 14mm a good buy / quality kit these days? Always been tempted by the M 4/3. Love the G3 but that is out of my price range

Does anyone have issues with the GX1 underexposing? I find the camera seems to underexpose most of the time and I end up dialing in 1 stop of exposure compensation.
It also seems to have a habit of setting the shutter speed to 1/60 when using Auto ISO and Aperture priority which I find gives camera shake with the 20mm.
Any ideas?![]()
Please define "vastly superior"Would the GF3 be vastly superior to a Canon SX 220 HS
Not had any underexposure issues with my GX1

Better IQ, ISO, DoF - yes, it is a bigger sensor and all of those are improved with a bigger sensor (which the GF3 has). Whether it is "vastly" is a personal opinion. Handling is personal choice too.Better IQ, handling, DOF, ISO etc

Well hubby and I decided to get a m4/3rds to use when we are dog walking, or just going somewhere where we don't want to be bogged down with all our Nikon kit.
We have been very impressed with the reviews and sample images we have seen of the new OMD, but decided to have a look around.
Long story short, due to the £50 cashbacks you can get at the moment, plus some very good deals on bodies and lenses, we have today become proud owners of a G3, and two lenses, the Lumix 14-140mm and 100-300mm!!
Just beginning to get our heads round the different functions, but have already had some lovely images straight out of the camera, with the only settings being changed were exposure compensation.
We had read that Panasonic JPEG's were lacking, but our dogs, and a very obliging Blue Tit seem to suggest those reports are wrong!
So two very happy bunnies here. I have been so excited about the combo today, because it's so tiny and yet comfortable to use and hold.
Hope to join this thread more often in the future![]()

raw is there to be converted and to have that original file you can do whatever you want + has much greater latitude for it .
mrtoad said:thanks...i thought i did know that but from time to time i get a senior moment
all my shots now are raw unless i have to do a download to someone elses pc etc and they dont have raw software
usually that means at family get togethers...then i use raw+jpeg super fine

I've always used RAW but have started to convert on import into Lightroom to DNG.
They are still as maleable as RAW but the files not as big for keeping.
