weekly Oy's Weekly Photo Thingiewotsit for 2023 : Week 52 : Fave of the year - Year Complete!

That‘s smoking. Looking good in B&W, hopefully they closed all the windows before entering the tunnel
Thanks - yeah I hope so lol.

Lovely image, so much detail and the fact that you can just see the tunnel behind the steam/smoke works perfectly. Cracking stuff!

Right up your street... or down your tunnel?
That's a lorra lorra steam! Excellent dramatic shot.

Thanks Helen - worth the day out :)

Week 13 : Spring

St Pete's Church in Heysham this afternoon.

Really nice scene Dave, certainly shouts Spring to me. I like the inclusion of the small branches as a frame and to break up the blue sky.

Thanks Barry Colin :)

I like that Dave - very spring like.

If I was being hyper-critical, I'm not in love with the shadows falling on the church. But I guess you can't have the nice light on the daffs without it...

Thanks Kell. :)

Definitely a spring themed shot, well composed and I like the shadows on the church and the branches framing it. :)

Daffs, blue sky and nicely framed.Spring :) What’s not to like.

Lovely job Dave. Nice warm light on the church and daffs just say Spring.

Lovely composition with very springy foreground interest. I rather like the shadows.

Getting time for some catch-up comments:

Knob - That looks an unhealthy amount of butter! Although I do enjoy an occasional fry up but in Scotland we might add "square sausage" to the plate.

Letters - The wind was accommodating giving the right amount to get the flag moving, which you had to time right with your shutter press.

Kitchen - Classic sketch well represented and sharp in the right places.

Broken - The signs reads like the instructions you get in something from the far east!

Full - Books as far as the eye can see, I really get the impression of it bulging apart at the seams.

Patterns - Well spotted with the repeating elements both in the foreground and background.

Tunnel - A really atmospheric image that's works well in mono.

Spring - Well composed image where all the elements add to the overall appearance.

Wow thanks for all those Stuart :)

Week 14 : Smooth

The River Lune at Tebay in Cumbria this morning.

That's a beauty Dave, love the colours and the sense of movement.

Lovely colours especially on the far side and the water is smooth- made me think of a chocolate drink :)

Like the church. Blue sky and green grass with the yellow of the daffs. Shadow is a little distracting but not a big deal.

Love the river though. Crisp and sharp on the static bits, with the lovely chocolaty river flowing through. Very nicely done

You’ve smoothed that river out nicely Dave. Lovely spring colours too.
