weekly Oy's Weekly Photo Thingiewotsit for 2023 : Week 52 : Fave of the year - Year Complete!

A lovely shot, very well exposed and composed.
Thanks Helen - a lot smoother than I like - but that was the theme :)

Great theme image for smooth, nice tones and colours :)

The water has got a really nice blur to it and the surrounding colours are wonderful.

Week 15 : Snapper's Choice

Stanier Black 5 No44932 this evening returning from a filming job in Bristol. Almost home in Carnforth - crossing the River Lune on Carlisle Bridge, Lancaster.

Perfect - both bridge pillars to frame the edges and the train perfectly positioned with great capture of the billowing steam.

Would like a tiny bit more on top if possible... (and that's not a comment on my hair, :D)

Thanks Graham :)

Lovely shot Dave. Works really nicely in mono, and can almost hear the noise!

Another great train shot Dave, the black and white processing is spot on.

Works well in B&W, pity just missed the top bit of steam but might have chopped the river off to get all the steam.

Thanks Keith. Yeah - had to get the river otherwise no point getting the bridge!

Great timing and a good sharp shot.
Mono suits this well.

You've done well with quite a busy shot. Looks good in mono. I think I agree with @overbez that it could do with a bit more space at the top but probably not possible with losing too much at the bottom... if you get my drift :)

Week 16 : Connected

During the interval during a Jazz Gig this evening. My Son's Fender Stratocaster - still connected :)

That's a very nice photo, and perfectly on topic - no need for explanations at all.

Nice take on the theme and a nice looking axe Dave.
When I saw your post about a "cunning plan", I have to admit my first thought was a train with connected coaches or wagons....

Lovely colour in the body and nice use of DoF.

Thanks Tim :)

Cheers - yes something like that was the plan :)

Real nice focus on the connection to the guitar. Love the fall off in focus from there too, great bokeh going up the neck.

The blue is a little bit 'electric' for me, something to compliment the beautiful tones in the wood would be kinder, a bit more mellow.

Thanks. I didn't chose the blue. That's what colour the chairs on stage were.

Lovely dof and colour- the reflections and light make a striking image.

Week 17 : Liquid and Black & White Tech.

"Welcome to Blackpool" - The Tower from North Pier yesterday.
