Available for download in July and it looks like a pretty impressive upgrade using a lot of the features of the iPad.

Agreed, avoided snow leopard waiting for this - hope I can upgrade from Leopard...

the scrolling is upside down! Apparently this is to make it more like an ipad/iphone, where you slide your finger down the screen to go up and vice versa.

Not sure what I make about that scrolling thing, would take some getting used to.
I'm not so sure. I saw Steve Jobs quoted as saying that despite investing a fortune in developing touch screen technology it just doesn't work ergonomically on an upright screen, which makes me think that what we'll see is more interface devices like the magic mouse and touch pad to make use of the new technology. He also made the point that interfacing with a PC hasn't changed since the first home computers - it's still keyboard/mouse /pointer and that needs to change if the PC is to progress.but to me it suggests one thing - a touch screen Mac is on the horizon.

hmm im not sure about the new OS, yes some good features, and yes a very good price, but the problem with any new OS is having to reinstall all applications, and having to back up and then put back on you documents and photos, if it could just be installed over the top i wouldn't even think about buying it, but as it is im not so sure

really, wow i must have fallen asleep in the keynotes (just not the same with no steve)
so all my applications will stay in place?? and i dont need to reinstall everything??
Jack
when did you have to do this?
leopard and snow leopard didn't have to reinstall applications either, in fact i can't remember the last OSX that required that to happen
only just joined mac, ive been having the fun of windows for most my life, always wanted a mac, however iv only just got one, sorry for being a bit special :bonk:
