Thinking along the same lines myself at the moment , results look goodAnyone have the 100-400mm Mark2 who previously had the Mark1 and can pass on their opinion whether they think it’s a decent improvement ie sharpness at the long end etc or nothing noticeable.
I see the Mark2 seems to have become more available now and I’m tempted.
I have the 300F4, a very nice sharp lens but I do miss a long zoom.

It is a shockingly good lens.Picked up a 300mm f4 yesterday and had time for a few snaps this morning - so far, so good![]()
Yes agreed - I need to try it in more testing conditions before popping the champagne but it seems great with what I’ve shot so farIt is a shockingly good lens.
When I win the lottery I shall buy its zoom equivalent.
Sorry I'm in Morocco and the forum won't accept the IP address from the hotel.I am going in a couple of weeks are you going on Britannia? It's our 40th anniversary treat but the EM1-X and a few lenses are coming with me

Nice work love both the photos.Couple of photos with the om-1 mkii and the 100-400 mk1.

feeding by jeff cohen, on FlickrI think the drop in sharpness, af speed etc would be noticeable tbh. The 6.5k big zoom lens can only just get close to the 300mm sharpness so the 100-400 is going to be way off really.Anyone have the 100-400mm Mark2 who previously had the Mark1 and can pass on their opinion whether they think it’s a decent improvement ie sharpness at the long end etc or nothing noticeable.
