Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Another from my Dorset trip. I took 13000 photos in 5 days. I think it might take me to 2030 to get through them all. Im just trying to deal with ones that are the most interesting ones to me first. This was the first Male Southern Migrant Hawker I've seen. OM1 Mkii + 300mm and using the AF.

That's a cracker Pete!

I had a 12-200mm briefly and just couldn't get on with it. Can't remember why as it was a few years ago. These days I just put up with the weight of my 12-100mm.

Handheld and long exposure Live ND.

What do others think of Live ND as I have seen many skies that look odd. For these water shots it looks better.

I’ve not used it very much as yet, though the one or two I’ve tried have looked OK.

I've only used it a handful of times and think it does the job quite well but I'm no landscape tog. And if I play long exposure it's typically for light trails etc

I went with the Om-1 mk1 and added the 14-150 to the 100-400 so pretty much covered now Mike for the time being.
Nice combo - wish the 14-150 was just a wee bit wider and I'd have one like a shot! All I have at the moment is an OM1 and 60mm - hopefully adding a 300f4 soon then will need a zoom of some sort probably...

I do have some manual focus wide angle and primes plus some other Panasonic wider lenses to for my g80 so l am pretty much covered really.

Not sure if anyone read a recent thread of mines about my 14-42 kit lens filling with water after falling in the river at Ashness Bridge.
Long story short, I put it in the airing cupboard and totally forgot about it for about a year.
I gave my stepson the lens along with an EM10 when our first Grandson was born nearly 9 years ago.
Well, he gave me the camera back as he preferred his phone camera.
After all these years and after all its been through, it still produces great images.
Not bad for an at least 10 year old (I bought it used) written off lens ;)

Had a drive out with friends to the nearby Keighley & Worth Valley railway. OM3 with 25mm f1.8 MkII

The "Special" taking theatre-goers to the afternoon performance of "The Railway Children" at Oxenhope, shot from Ingrow station.

I flicked the outside light on before going to bed last week and was surprised to see a badger finishing off some out of date ice cream that the crows didn't fancy.

This was on the OM1 with the 150-400 lens, ISO 25k, f/4.5 and 1/10s through a very dirty window. I used the DxO Deep Prime Noise Reduction (that doesn't add details). I used auto focus as the peaking was peaking on every bit of noise in the shot and was not helpful at all. The technology continues to amaze me.

Apologies, but I'm getting a little obsessed with this 25mm lens on mono shots. Keighley station, OM3, 25mm f1.8 MkII

These are lovely. Are they in camera jpegs? When I use my Pen F it makes me want to use a small prime and take monochrome pictures. This combo looks the same. I suspect these are better quality images than the Pen F will produce, but I still love it.

The gravestones look like little aliens waiting for a concert or their leader :ROFLMAO:

Thank you, Bebop. No, I keep forgetting about the mono mode and these are from Raw files. I do like using primes, but when I do so, I will go out with just the one because I am too idle to keep swapping lenses!

I've been doing a bit of clearing up of hard drives today and came across this photo from 2023 taken with the OM1. Rolling shutter is a bit annoying isn't it? I obviously didn't think about it but I should have used the mechanical shutter.

Is the OM1-ii an improvement does anyone know? I guess I could look up some YouTube reviews, although I've not been doing enough photography recently to justify an upgrade just yet. This was 1/320s.

Isn’t this the C130 ? They have curved propellers.

:ROFLMAO: That would make me feel a whole lot better. I thought it was a Hercules - which I now see is a C130. However google doesn't seem to agree.

Just checked the A400.Yes!!! Thank you. I feel much better now! :D :D

Edit: I'm now intrigued to see if I did use the mechanical shutter.
