Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Interesting Amazon are listing 28th feb as the release date of the 90mm. That’s the first time I’ve seen a date mentioned. Although watching the latest live stream some people on the chat have said their money was taken today and 1 person said his is arriving tomorrow.
Ive also seen one shop say they have a OM representative in their shop on the 3rd march. So I think we can assume the lens should be in the hands of people next week

That's what I wanted Rich really, but these 2 came up at the right time.

Next is the 40-150 F2.8 PRO and then the 100-400.

So another 2 nice light lenses then.
Yeah. But that 40-150 is a bit special.

.... I can only report my own individual experiences of and disappointment in WEX and it doesn't mean that others will be disappointed. My experiences were not bad enough to prompt me to recommend others not to buy from them.

I look forward to seeing your results with the OM 90mm Macro - I have seen nothing but great results so far and shall buy one in due course.
I think you might be right. I emailed them and they have said they dont have an ETA from their suppliers. I can see other companies (Amazon, SRS microsystems) showing 28th as release date so to not have an ETA for something coming in in 3 days time sounds pretty rubbish to me.

yet to find a olympus lens I dont like Terry

I have an oly em10 mk2..
I have put a helios 44-2 58mm f2 lens with lens adapter mount on it.

Is there a way I can have image stabilisation working with s lens, also I have colour peeking on but it doesn’t work. (If I put a Olympus lens on the colour focus peeking does work)

Help appreciate :)

I.b .i.s should work even with MF lenses , check your SCP to Ensure it’s on auto , focus peaking tends to work better with longer lenses but putting a different brand on should not effect it ?

.... I am not confident that you are right Jeff - I say this because Emmet states he is also mounting a lens adapter and if it's a third party brand it may not pass on the needed instructions and in fact I definitely would not expect it to do so unless it's a top-of-the-range Metabones and even those have limitations.

Limited electronic communications is usually one of the compromises when you mount a third party lens.

Out of curiosity I just Google'd Helios lenses and read that there are many variations of this old Russian 44-2 lens.

On “legacy” lenses, ie, manual lenses mounted via an adaptor, although you can still focus manually you need to select manual focus on the body to enable peaking and IBIS. You also need to tell the body, in the menus, what focal length lens you are using to allow the stabilisation to work correctly. I don’t have this body so I can’t tell you exactly where the options are in the menu system.

This is easy on a Sony camera. Manual focus what red whit or yellow focus peeking helps me focus, and stabilisation is auto on it.

I have peeking on, no colours work. I can’t find where camera only stabilisation is. I’ll keep looking in the manual for that.

I was having so much fun with the Sony and old "legacy" lenses that I thought why not buy a mount for my oly

I have two. Both are slightly different.

Nice little read about them Here

I have the stabilisation sorted. Now I just need help why I can’t see any colours when focus peeking using the manual lens.

Pretty sure it doesn’t matter Robin as it’s a manual set up .it will be the camera that# doing the peaking the adaptor is irrelevant , my suspicion now is he has found the i.b.I.s but the focus peaking has been selected but not enabled .. on the 1mk ii and mkiii it had to be assigned to a button to switch it on and off . Not had a series 10 for a while so tryin* to do it from memory

I'm not sure if you have this sorted yet, but this may help, I haven't watched it, but it sounds relevant:

I done exactly what he said in the video. Must be my Olympus doesn’t like the old lenses. Fussy thing :D

My very first SLR lens which came on the Zenith E my parents gave me for my 18th birthday.

A photo of your SCP with offending lens fitted might help ?

Ok. I got it. I followed this and it works??? Why just these two buttons makes it work only Olympus know. It’s a conspiracy I tells ya :runaway:

Thanks for the help everyone

Haven’t watched the video yet , but I’m assuming that peaking is now working ?

Basically what I said in my reply to red Robin above . Anyway hope it’s all clear to you now and working o.k
And thanks to you I have had to get my MF macro lens out and set it up on the new M1X body enable magnify and peaking .. first time the lens has seen daylight for months ..
And I’m now also browsing e.bay for legacy glass again grrrrrrrrrrrr

That will lead you down more rabbit holes than a ferret with an appetite

Out and about nice and early this morning ( 6:30 ) :) minus 1 and a stiff breeze made it feel like minus 10, the girls don't seem to mind but I was bloody cold.

I continue to be surprised by how good this little Olympus is for landscapes.
Love this. Well captured
