No, it just turned up after 10 days. You can check the website for details of your claim - you would have got info when completing claim.

Have looked all it said it been valid but there no section say what happening ie waiting dispatch or anything. I've had email ladt week say been accepted

I'm definitely impressed with the E-M5, and although the 12-50 is excellent, I'm much preferring to use the Leica 25mm and Oly 45mm primes on it. However, I can't help but feel that the latest firmware has made things a little worse - I could never hear IBIS before, but now I can whenever I half depress the shutter, which is a shame, but not a big deal. I'm not particularly noticing any improvements anywhere else, but I'm not a major user, so perhaps I will in time.

All said, I do feel as if there's something missing - I've gone through so many cameras trying to find the best one for me, and the E-M5 is very close to that, but AF still causes me some issues.

Has anyone moved back to a DLSR? I'm seriously considering moving my kit on to get a 5D Mark III, which looks to be a superb bit of kit. I guess I have to accept that the compromise is bulkier, heavier stuff if I want the speed and quality I've had in the past.

Beautiful sunrise Alan!

I'm already thinking that my soon-to-arrive OMD will benefit from a fast zoom. I hear the Panasonic 12-35 is good (and extortionately priced in my opinion) but I would appreciate views on this lens. Being Panasonic, does it function properly on the OMD (hopefully without an adaptor)?

py6km - I shoot for a living and one of my current bodies is a 5D MkIII. It's hard to criticise it, I've shot everything from wildlife to catwalk with it, but it's a complete no-no for personal work due to its weight and bulk. Yes, you will have speed and quality (and the price to contend with, particularly when you add good glass) but you probably won't enjoy the backache and neckache!

Thanks Lindsay - is it noticeably heavier/bulkier in use than the 5D Mark II? I had one of those, and it was ok (although a step up in terms of weight from the E-M5 of course!)

It is a little heavier than the MkII. For me, when I'm bearing the strain of carrying pro-kit around each week as part of my job I just can't contemplate carrying the same kit with me on a personal outing, for both physical and psychological reasons. I suppose it depends how often you think you will be using it, for how long, and where.

Obviously it boils down to what you're shooting, if you're seriously into wildlife, sports, and lots of moving targets then a good DSLR is what you need. But for walkaround stuff it's complete overkill.

By the way, what aspects of the OMD were you not happy with?

The 12-35 works very well on the OM-D, no adapter required.
Here are a few examples..

Thanks Lindsay, these were all taken on the Isle of Sky in August.

Oh my GOD they are awesome dont tell me that another lens I need LOL

Don't get me going on lenses .... since ordering my OMD yesterday I'm thinking of nothing else. I've spotted this tiny lightweight lens (ideal for my street photography I suspect) which appears to get very good reviews and is cheap: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-Lumix-20mm-Pancake-Lens/dp/B002PIIQGU/ref=cm_cr_dp_asin_lnk

But somebody said it can cause banding on Olympus bodies at high ISOs - is that true??

Or this one, for more money: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-H...rchangeable/dp/B0056H5VLK/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_t

The 20mm is on my list too.. It has been reported regarding the banding but think it been corrected with the firmware 1.5 Few guys on here use their 20mm without a problem

One is a 20mm f1.7 and the other that I put photos up with was a 25mm f1.4
The one you now ask about is a 30mm and I have that too, it seem well made and sharp, I like and use it too. Here is a shot taken with the 30 on the om-d.

Too many  I have 14 MFT mount lenses and 11 Manual Canon FD mount lenses that I use on my MFT system :D
The sigma 30 is quick to focus and I think a pretty good lens for the price, I don't have the 19 though.

Thank you Lindsay

The 12-35 is top of my list as a 24-70 2.8 equivalent and it will function on the OM-D without any kind of adapter - infact all the Panasonic (except the 3D lens) M43 lenses will work fine on the OM-D mostly - there are known issues with the 20mm - high ISO badning, and the 7-14 - odd purple flare.

But to be honest neither of these issues has stopped me owning and using both these lenses on my OM-D and I haven't experienced either issue (yet).

Superb shot :)

Ta very much
