If you buy a wide aperture lens you'll have fewer problems and you can always select auto ISO which helps even more.

My G1 does ok indoors, with a wide aperture lens and auto ISO, and I'd guess that the Oly is better.
 
That free lens offer is mighty tempting!

Although I see the Olympus refurb store has the EM-5+12-50 and the 45mm at prices less than buying new with the free lens, so I may give that some consideration.

The real bargain, though, is the E-P1 and 14-150 for £269. The cheapest I've ever seen that lens new is £379 for an unboxed one from SRS. So you get £80 quid off and a free E-P1!

Very impressive images there and I guess you still loving the OMD then :)

Te black and white boat shots what did you process it with was it taken in mono or did you process. Also are you shooting raw or jpegs ?

Nice pics Alan. The 7-14 on the OM-D is by no means a lost cause, it just takes careful use.

It only happens in certain circumstances - if you don't get the 7-14 you can always get the 9-18 and use filters too.

Exactly. I just posted some photos taken while out walking and none exhibit the purple blotches.
 
Ok :) I've no m43 lens anyway soo get what good with it :) trying sell my old gears first don't want end up with 2 cameras ha ha
 
Great shots there Alan and Glenn

I've been using my OMD a bit more lately, with the 25, 100-30, 45 and 7-14 love it! Halved my m43 bodies, dumped the G1, GF3 and G3, together with 14, 20 and 14-42 lenses, wasn't using that lot much.

Interesting that you have dumped the p14 and p20 - whilst out yesterday I was using those 2 on my GX1 and the p7-14 and o45 on the OM-D. But those 2 pancakes on the OM-D make it almost pocketable :thumbs:

I too sold off the p14-42 the other day as I thought that the o12-50 (albeit a little slower at the long end) was a better lens to keep.

Seriously considering the p12-35 to use on my OM-D as the main lens - swapping lenses in the cold yesterday was a chore - the o45 for bokeh and the p7-14/o12-50 for wider shots - whereas the p12-35 could be the best of both worlds?

Anyone got any views on how this performs on the oly body?

Going get the kit lens and free lens.

I will be getting the 12-35 as it makes perfect sense too! There is a link to a review of a pre-production lens and OMD on the mu43. Still in Mauritius and on iPad, so more time consuming to post link for you!

I haven't had that coldness issue changing lenses this week......

Can't post any sample pics from this week really as all photo sharing sites are blocked here by the content filtering.

Got the 9-18 and also the 75-300 just before I flew. Really happy with both although some quarters will disagree. Sharing a B&W circ pol. Between the 12-50 and 9-18, that's one of the reasons I got it. It's no 14-24 but then I couldn't tuck that in my pocket could I?

As for the 75-300 - got some great pics with its length - again way lighter than my bigma!!

Pretty much made up my mind to sell my Nikon gear. After lugging a D800 and 3 lenses to Dubai in a Think-Tank roller compared with strolling on the plane with a light Billingham it's made my mind up. For the photos I take, the OMD is way better than me!

Pleased with low light too and that's important to me.

Have been reading up on the 12-35 since posting - probably read that article you mention thinking about it .....

I'm really pleased with the OM-D but sounds like you have had better weather to test yours out :thumbs:

I look forward to seeing some shots when you get back from abroad.

Me too - not sure I'll reach it's limits - not exactly taxing it with my subject matter :lol:

The Lumix 12-35 won't give you anything like the background blur that you get from the mZuiko 45mm. You'll have to keep the 45.

More great shots Alan

I was not using the 20 that much since getting the 25, and I use the 7-14 for wide angle stuff, rather than the 14. Dumping all those old bodies and lenses were my walk around gear, but got a Sony RX100 for true pocket ability. I thought about the 12-35, little steep though.
