Those photos are quite tame compared to tales from such as "the Bentley Boys" from pre F1 GP times.
A driver quaffing several bottles of champagne DURING a race.
A driver pouring several gallons of oil into the filler only to be told that it was pouring out of the other side through the hole the conrod had left in the case.
Drivers racing to and from races - on the roads in the race cars.
And many more!
I've seen it said that Jim Clark was known for making hand signals at photographers whilst driving. If he thought they were in a dangerous place he wasn't very polite !
But he'd also get them to move to somewhere where they could get a better shot.
Sometimes he'd notice a photographer at a corner and on the next lap do something to make a picture more interesting - slide the rear, clip the apex a bit harder etc.
