Oh no... Another 365!

Love 156. Great landscape - or should that be a skyscape? Cloud formations have come out really well.

Love the fire one!!

I've been meaning to try something like that for a while, but have never got round to it. Maybe you should take more landscapes, but little opportunity to use a flash. :(

Cheers mate, I was hoping for a bit better with the fire really, I wanted less stuff in the BG...

I haven't visited here for a few days - I love day 151

I think you need to do more landscape pictures - day 156 is lovely :)

Thanks, glad you like them, I enjoyed doing the landscape one, but they move too slow for my liking

For someone who doesn't do landscapes, that one is pretty good.

Cheers fabs :D

Love the fire one, very abstract, but so cooool ;)

Cheers mate, hopefully I'll get chance to do a better one before Summer vanishes completely

Love 156. Great landscape - or should that be a skyscape? Cloud formations have come out really well.

Thank you  I do like my skies, actually went for a walk to get that... I hate walking.

I feel like a bit cheeky, busy last few days and no real time to catch up with everyone. Tomorrow is Vicki's birthday so no help there, hopefully will get a nice photo to share :D
I PROMISE to make more of an effort from tuesday onwards!

157, little time, crappy shot, sorry.

158, not much better, at least it'll make you smile :D

159,
Vicki's birthday but not a photo of Vicki. She wanted to go to Sealife in Birmingham, so we did.
It's a good day out as long as you can avoid the school parties. Photographically it can be a challenge. The one thing I couldn't get a decent shot of was the biggest! A turtle weighing 40 stone, just couldn't get it sharp but I think it was down to the perspex and amount of water separating us.

365_159.jpg

That's a great shot, love the blue cast too :)

I know how hard it is to take photos in these places. thick glass, lots of dark areas, harsh lights and lots of people.

Cheers mate.
I didn't even bother trying to get colours right, they choose some crazy lights for the tanks and they all seem to be different!
Another problem is a lot of the time it seems to be perspex not glass, very poor optically.

Day 160,
something a bit sharper :D
Still way out of my comfort zone, I don't do flowers... I'll let JD try to figure out the lighting, (think simple).
Oh, they're flowers Vicki's parents sent for her birthday.

365_160.jpg

Lovely composition, maybe could do with a touch more light on the flower, other than that A1 mate :)

Come on mate, (JD)
light modifiers? How far to the left?

You could use a cheap ebay wireless trigger with a hot shoe adaptor.

Would mean you using the flash is manual, but if you are shooting something static you have lots of time to play around.

LOL!
Studio softbox, just under 90deg to camera. BG is actually a brown curtain.
1/200 f/11 ISO200.

nicnok, optical triggers are cheap and you can use your popup flash on manual turned right down to fire them. Or, get a hotshoe PC adapter and use a cable, or as JD says use radio triggers, cheap ones or pocket wizards.

Hehe,
I don't think I'd have got it if I didn't set it up...

161, trip to the Safari Park, terrible place for a decent photo. I realised it's set up for people to look at animals, not take award winning pictures of them. Need to go ona real safari for that I guess.

365_161.jpg

Nice composition there mate. I think for photos you are better off going to a Zoo rather than a Safari park, as you get a bit closer to the animals

We got close enough, thought a Rhino was going to walk into the car... Just the BG's were awful!

Got lost on the way home today, honest!
Just headed into the lanes due to mad traffic, and snapped this one.
I was lost, so I don't know where this is :D

365_162.jpg

Always liked them mate, just don't see it much this way (well, don't see the blue bits).

OMG Cyclone - 161 took my breath away - absolutely stunning!

Hey thanks
I have to admit I was pretty happy with that one, shame it's quite a heavy crop, only 217dpi on A4.

Which safari park was it?

West Mids.
Between Kidderminster and Bewdley in case you don't know it. :)

136, bloody terrible shot :(
yesterday didn't go to plan, so this'll have to do.

365_163.jpg

Cheers guys,
yesterdays is going to be another poor effort, still trying to manage something today too.
Happy days :(

164, more rubbish, candles and lights after BBQ.
365_164.jpg

165, Naughty cat!
365_165.jpg

166, My bike spanked me today.
365_166.jpg

166 is interesting, very different and I like the mono conversion.

164 you could rename as 'desparate', sorry :D

165 could be renamed BBQ Cat

I'll get my coat . . . :coat:

That's fine.
My 365 is not about bagging a winner every day, it's about me making use of my gear every day as I had a massive block last year. This will stop that happening.

Of course when I do get a good one it's a bonus, there are about 3 or 4 that I quite like, the Elephant is one, my avatar is another. Bagging the Elephant seems to have killed my luck though

I think it's hard to bag a winner when taking pics normally, regardless of doing it everyday. 365 just makes it even more difficult :)

Nah, that's for wimps.
Lets see if I say that in 7 months time?

I'm pretty certain that I WONT be doing this next year though. I'm enjoying it and I don't want it to be a chore.

I have to agree, my feelings right now is that I'm probably not going to do a 365 next year, instaed I think I'll do a 52 and then also embark on certain mini projects or themes to do each week.
