Official Talk Leica thread

Hi, pricey indeed :

I am not sure, how well a 60MP cam performs without IS. I cannot find out. My other cams max. out at 45MP ...

Messsucher, the German word for "rangefinder"

Hi, I suppose Leica marketing will find a way how to put it.

Cropping became digital zooming, and evf in an M will become Digitaler Messsucher or digital rangefinder ...
I guess all those Fujifilm X-Pro users can get their own back now & say it’s not a real rangefinder. :ROFLMAO:

It's actually less real then the X-Pro/X100 series, at least they have a window.:p
Hi, I cannot say much about FUJI. I only own a real MF FUJI, the GS645 film camera.

If future owners of the Leica M EV1 are happy with it, fine with me.

(If I wanted to use a 60MP cam now, I would buy a SONY A7R4 ... )

I swapped from leica m10 to sony 7rm5 to fuji gfx 100s...
There is a difference... but the weight it there too.

I still liked the m10 feel tho

Hi, as I said many times, I use Leica, Nikon and SONY cameras. I am quite happy with my harem.

I never sell. So I never have to part with a cam. -

The M EV1 discussion reminds me a little of the introduction of the water-cooled PORSCHE 911 years ago.

Some - and even some 911 owners - said then a proper 911 must be air-cooled. -

Over the years, we will get used to an M with EV.

I like my M9s, especially their rendering, and will use them as long as possible.

I must admit that I just do not like any EV viewfinder - that's one of the reasons I'm sticking with my D850 and will buy another when they decide to discontinue them

Hi, the lenshood of my Leica Elmarit V4 2,8/28 was broken :

I removed the plastic part from the metal ground plate :

The original lenshood after fixing with super-glue :

It looked rather fragile. So, I bought a HAOGE metal lenshood (40€, amazon). It is high quality. There was an original lenshood on ebay at 176€, but I was not sure
how long it would last ...

Given the shadows on the door anyone would think we we stood next to each other :ROFLMAO:
Had to do a double take when I saw your image. :ROFLMAO:

I’m surprised I didn’t notice you wandering round, I’m the sad guy who’s always interested in what others are shooting - would have definitely clocked another Leica user!
