Hi, a wildlife picture, for a change ... (M9 - VOIGTLÄNDER Apo-Lanthar 2/50 f 2 ; crop) :

D-Lux 7. You’ve updated from the 109 ?
Yes mate, a while ago. It developed some issues so I jumped on a clean 7 then got the 109 serviced and sold it on. TBH for what I use it for the 109 was fine but it's no longer supported by Leica for servicing etc so I took the opportunity when it arose. They're no different in real world use so it was an easy move.

Hi,
Looking for a bit of real world advice. 2 main hobbies. Walking mountains (ticking of the Munros) and taking pictures of the scenery. Owned a few cameras over the years, and a few Leicas, but the obsession with walking has edged ahead of pure photography so need something small and light and not breaking the bank as i wont get the usage to justify it. The D-lux 8 looks to hit every sweet spot but there is the nagging doubt on no weather sealing. I'm not worried about water as I am always careful but does it have a dust issue? Anyone?

I've had the D-Lux Typ 109 and now have the D-Lux 7 and whilst I can't say for the D-Lux 8 both mine had/have dust on the sensor (although only 1 spot). The trouble is to get them cleaned is expensive 9around £200). FWIW the Lumix versions of both had dust issues also (LX 100s). On the up side though I do find the zoom range (24-75 ff equiv) is a very useful range and the physical dials, for me, make them easy to use in manual.

It’s not weathersealed, my wife has one, but its only a few months old, no issues so far.

You could consider a Fuji X100VI and accept that you have to crop for zoom, but that would lose out on the wide end, unless you shot pano's

I think X100VI may be way to go. I had a X100V a few years back and enjoyed. The VI will be forgiving of a of more cropping.
