The press badge gives me an undisturbed (only by other photographers) hour, but some of the cars are covered, and moist, and the lighting can be poor.

This year, I was at the Classic Gala on 2 days, day one with the Leica M9 and the VOIGTLÄNDER Apo-Lanthar 2/50, day two with the SONY A7R2 and the SONY FE 1,8/35
(to get closer to the cars and to be faster with AF) ...
 
Hi all, I was wondering how many of you are also on the Leica User Forum and of those of us who are are you having trouble getting on since the server change? I just keep getting diverted to a holding page despite the admins saying the site should be available again. If any of you are able to connect could you pass to them this issue please.

Is this still the case, I had issues yesterday but am ok this morning

Thanks Trevor, I'm still getting no joy. I just get this when I try to get on,

Not sure what is happening I've tried 3 different computers (one which has never been on LUF the wife's) and my phone the trouble is I've no way of contacting them to try to sort it out without access to the Forum.

Update, I have discovered that I can get onto the Forum using my phone but only if it is not connected to my Wi-Fi (which is through TalkTalk) so I am assuming the issue is with TalkTalk and am trying to get some action from them. I have also contacted the MODs on LUF to let them know the issues I am having so I'll wait and see.

Update, I have now spent 3 hours on a helplie chat with Talk Talk, they did some stuff then told me to wait 2 hours and all would be fine. I waited 2 hours and there was no change.

Out of interest are any of you on Talk Talk and are you having any difficulties.

Secondly and probably more importantly would you that have no issues mind letting me know who your broadband providers are (PM will do) as I am now looking to change my provider and don't want to jump to another that I can't get connected with.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am with Deutsche Telekom from Deutschland, which will not help much, I am afraid ...

Final Update folks, I have finally got on to the LUF on the new server, Talk Talk were no help but I tried going in via a VPN which was successful so I cna at least contribute again.

Anyone who is still prepared to share their broadband provider I would still be grateful because I am still minded to leave Talk Talk and as I said before I don't want to jump to another problem so I will choose from those providers that don't have issues.

This seems to be the stock answer to anyone with problems -

  • Please delete your browser cache
  • Try a different browser
  • Try a different network (mobile vs home wifi)
These are all cache problems.

Thanks Dave, FWIW I have now got full access with my ordinary broadband so I have no idea WTF was going on. I'm still going to look to change my provider though because they were no help at all.
 
Hi, looking back ... (SONY NEX-3 - ZEISS Sonnar 1,5/50 f 1,5) :

( I found this in my files. From OLYMPUS (PEN EP-1) I moved on to SONY, the tilt screen and the APS-C sensor being the main reasons then.

NEX-3 performance with my M mount lenses was good. This was true for the NEX-5N and the NEX-6. Performance problems with UWA lenses started with the SONY A7.

I still use M mount lenses on my SONYs , but only VOIGTLÄNDER 12 and 15mm lenses on the SONY A7Rii with the SONY Playmemories lens correction app.

Times have changed. So have the sensors. The NIKON Zf is said to perform well with M mount lenses, but I have not seen any UWA samples.

I have many native SONY lenses now, and M mounts, of course. So, I stay mainly with my native combos ... )
