I thought I might have something in this shot - mainly I'd been focussing on the woman at the top - but here she's not positioned so visibly .. and I'm not sure any other viewer would really notice her anyway...

I had the first f1.2 too, but sold it because of the weight, but I like the 50/1.2, that's just right. I could do with a faster 35mm, I have the Summicron 35/2 which is a nice lens, so might wait to see what the new VM 35/1.4 is like. Or try the 40/1.2....

Hi, it seems to be a technical necessity that fast high-res lenses with good IQ are heavy now.

Perhaps one should accept it, following Arnold S. no pain, no gain ...

Compared to other lenses for mirror-less or DSLRs we are still quite lucky with M mount dimensions.

For me, the prototypical Leica lens is still the Summicron 2/35, an optimum of size and IQ ... ---

Leica Q-P just landed . On my Q I had a hand grip and finger loop but this time I'm thinking of getting a case instead. Any Q users using a hand grip or a case ? Any recommendations apart from the OEM offerings?

A recent review of the Nokton, with references to the v1 and to other 35s, including the Distagon:

I agree with this. The Nokton can be used as an allround lens, if one can live with its weight and bulk, and if one feels the need for f 1,2.

Otherwise, one should go for the Distagon ...
