Official Talk Leica thread

Hi, ... (M9 - LEITZ Tele-Elmarit-M 2,8/90 f 2,8 ) :

(Nice bokeh, I think, with the lens of my "Leica starter kit" from 1988 ... There seem to be some good offers on ebay.

However, the Elmarit-M has the same price there, and a sliding hood ... )

(Nice bokeh, I think, with my "old-iron combo" ... )

P.S.: Using the DOF calculator here

I found that my Heliar has less DOF than the 1,0/50 NOKTON ... ---

Looks like they were having a lot of fun, I suspect my kids (20 and 23 yr olds) would know who or what the characters were but not me. :)

Good performance under mixed lighting from the M10. (y)
To be honest, I only recognised John Wick and Michael Myers myself :p

@gramps

How’s it going with the Q ?
Very well Trevor thanks, it is very easy to use, thanks to the simple and clear menu structure, and it produces great image quality.
I've got used to the fixed 28mm now and use it in conjunction with my Ricoh GR III, which is also 28mm (18mm aps-c) - it fits my type of photography now.

Some of those are rather special, I love the boats on trailers and the three marker flags behind the crab (?) pots.

My shallow DOF indulgences were always C/Y 85mm f/1.4 planar or the black Canon EF80-200 f/2.8L , I have not owned a 50mm wider than f/1.4 , they are awful tempting though.

Thank you very much Keith

Yes crab pots!

My hunch (never owned or even used one) is that the CV 50/1.2 is probably a better buy - smaller, lighter, a lot cheaper and only half a stop slower.. and according to reviewers it has far less vignette too… (but no FLE) a few times I’ve stopped the F1 down to 1.2 just to help a bit with the focus..

But for me the F1 was pure GAS indulgence so it had to be the F1…

After over two weeks of shooting virtually nothing but 50/1 I might have a little break from it now… or from f1 at least!
