OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

Very nice Mel......I agree with Lloyd about the hood being left alone.....adds to the character imo.

Regardless, it looks to be a beautiful piece of gear....enjoy using it!

Congrats Mel! Leave the hood, there's no point, it looks fine like that.

 Nice - and again with the hood - unless there's scratches on the inside surface which could cause random glints/reflections, i'd leave it...

^ to be honest, if there were marks on the inside of the hood I'd be a little worried about the mechanics on the CF shutter rather than just reflections!

Nice one, congratulations. One less person wanting one of those :)

Well, I've just got myself an epson v500 and have been given a Pentax ME and a Pentax MEF.

How do I suddenly own 10 film cameras!

Does the ME-F have the AF 35 - 70 f4 with it? If so you've got a unique camera and lens combination as the ME-F was an early autofocus camera (basically an ME Super with some bits added on) but it only AF's when using the above lens which is pretty distinctive as it needs 4 AAA batteries to work because of the motor being in the lens.

Unfortunately no, it came with a 50mm lens. My father in law gave it to me and said he has a few more lenses somewhere and he will dig them out and give them to me. He mentioned a lens that was about 18" long so can't wait to see what that one is!

I tried to thin mine down but people keep giving me more!

I currently have my M6, Rolleiflex T and a trip. My dad got me a zeiss folder 6x6 for christmas as I had been poking at them when we went to Arundel photographica together and then also dumped a russian rangefinder monstrosity on me as he wanted me to try the lens on my M9! The bloody things breed I tell you!

Apologies for the instagram snap (only one I have to hand).

It's not my newest toy, but it's the prettiest

I have been having a great deal of difficulty locating a 5x7-4x5 reducing back for my Canham MQC57 I decided to buy a cheap 4x5 Camera to enable the use of my Polaroid Back, Roll Film Backs and Fuji Quickload Holder. I bought this fantastic condition Shen-Hao PTB45 and additional Bag Bellows from a seller in the US, which with shipping & customs fees cost a fraction under £500, which was a good saving on the £800 the same items would have cost from Ffordes.

I have to say, it is a stunningly good looking camera in Black Walnut with Black Anodised fittings:

That is a work of art!

I wouldn't know where to start though myself, where does the roll of film fit?

Yes, it looks even better in real life.

Not such a daft question as you may think, as it has an 'International Back' (Graflock) there are a number of roll film backs available for it: 6x7, 6x9, 6x12 and with an adapter even 6x17.

Wow...6x17...Panotastic.

Beautiful looking camera Eddie.

New toy to fit on my recently acquired F2
Pre AI 35mm f2, little ding to the filter thread. Still accepts filters though.
Fabulous build quality to this old stuff.

Been a while since I had anything to post here but I received this this morning.

Rollei Orange Bay-1 Filter by Strappster, on Flickr

For those unfamiliar with bay-1 filters, it's about the size of a 50p piece. I love the little leather wallet that came with it :D

Now all I have to do is make time to get out with it on the Yash. And first use up the roll of expired Portra I loaded the other day thinking that I'd get out with that over the weekend.

Must dig out a bag that'll take my tripod so that I can shoot Pan-50 with this on at the F&C meet on Saturday...

There is something unbelievably quaint about the Rollei bayonet filters. The leather cases are definitely something, just make sure you clean them first because they can have 50 years of dirt!

Rollei bayonet filters and a leather case, quality accessories from a bygone age!

My new toys I got last week. All of those things were £15 all together + more(kodak ekrtalite 600 set, Halina SB, National&Sunpak flashes, Boots 4000 slide viewer, roll of 35mm film) The most expensive thing being the AF600 Polaroid at £10. Qualifies for both bargains and new toys thread haha.

Also got a 2CR5 battery, finally I can use my Yashica T3 SuperD!!

Looks a good buy for £15...that Helios lens might be worth £15 on the bay.

Cezar, you are clearly seeking out some great finds for minimal outlay!

I poped into my local charity shop and noticed this rather tired case, looked like a camera....

I came up, opened it and bang, what do I see?

£3 well spent! Ordered a battery to see if it works though the flash looks slightly burned I hope the rest of it is good.

(I know I posted last before this but I'm so excited over this!)

Won on eBay for 60 posted! the ones i have been watching recently are going for £100+. Does anyone have a lens cap to sell me?

Rich, that was a good win. It's subjective I know, but is the rangefinder patch hard to see? Also, is focusing conventional "twist the lens", or another mechanism (like the lever in the Canonet and I think the Olympus XA)?

Will let you know about the rangerfinder patch when i recieve it, why do you ask?
I'm pretty sure it's a twist to focus lens.

Well my experiments with rangefinders have not yet been impressive, but I like the concept. My Canonet has a good patch, but focusing is a lever protruding under the lens. For me particularly the ergonomics are awkward compared with a camera where you hold/twist the lens (thus lending support to the right hand gripping the camera and firing the shot). The (much older) Ikonta I tried this weekend had an almost invisible RF patch; I ended up just estimating distances!

you wait years for one (see post 3627) and in a matter of weeks another turns up.
Got it on the bay. Item number 221179402703

Seals need doing, but other than that I can't find a mark on it.

An F2A and an F2AS? That's quite the arsenal.

Thanks, I feel blessed..not sure how good it is but picked a Vivitar (Kiron) 28mm 2.5 to go with it.

Recent new toy.....signs of use (which will increase in my hands :p)

It's such an awesome camera. It was the fastest first roll I shot in a camera!

I've got a selection of AF-D lenses i can use with it although I have to confess that I've got my eye on a couple of more "classic" F/2 lenses........I must stay strong and resist temptation!:D
