OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

Yep, I find it a bit nicer to have a slightly rough looking one especially if the lenses/aperture/speeds are fine. It's a lot less stressful walking around with it too!

As for sending it to Brian, I probably will in the New Year, the shutter dial is pretty stiff compared to my 3.5 but all the slow speeds seem right. Probably due to the interlock with the aperture when you head into the green bulb scale.

Sounds like reasonably normal behaviour - the best bit about Brian is that if your camera didn't need much work (like my 3.5F), he'll be upfront about it - he won't pretend that he worked miracles when there were no miracles required on the internals.

For all of those nice white face 2.8F and 3.5Fs all over the net and flickr, I bet none of them have been taken outside in years

Present to self, first foray into Nikon AF! :D

Very impressed with the build quality of the F100, not what I expected at all having handled a few cheap end AF Nikons. Lens is a bit lightweight but I am on the lookout for a 28-105, just missed one in the classifieds. Given it is pouring down outside it might be a good test of the weather sealing!

Nice Crimbo pressie for yourself Adrian....A little envious I have to admit although if I pick up another slr in the New Tear, iIll plunge for an FE probably.

I might be looking to move my FE on (when I rarely shoot 35mm it is usually with an FE2) in the new year! Give me a shout if you are still interested

Thanks Asha, I mainly shoot with an F3HP, an FE and an FE2, I really like the feel of Nikon cameras of that era. I have to say through the F100 although more modern has the feel and weight of Nikon's from another era.

Good luck with the search for an FE, a great camera, I am sure you wouldn't be disappointed with one.

My mother got me a canon sure shot 120... For now, that's all I know about it. Time to head to google

Finally managed to get my new (to me) toy out of the car. Tested this morning, all working great, just got to work out how to get it upstairs now.

My wife wasn't impressed by my suggestion that the dining room became the darkroom, well, water supply is close and it saves taking the monster upstairs.

LX added just for scale.

Wow! Ed that is awesome!

I'd love to see my wife's face if I turned up with that!

I only hope I can do it justice, it was previously owned by Nadav Kander.

That looks a monster, has it got a 110 neg holder?

Now there's a great thread idea..

"stuff you've got from famous peeps"

All you need to do now is to get a Devere 5108 to do your 10x8 negs as well :D

That 507 is HUGE though and at first glance I did think that your LX was an Auto 110 in the picture! Shows the power of scale.

Who's Hugh? No 8x10 I'm afraid, sold the camera, film holders and film to fund the enlarger.

To be honest, I have much more fun shooting 5x7 and 4x5, I am not very fit and that 8x10 stuff is just huge and heavy compared to the 5x7 although spotting the negs is a lot easier.

I got an action sampler a few weeks back, just got the film back from Asda. It's an interesting distraction, fun results but not something you'd use regularly. The massively ood 400 I put through it has come back chronically underexposed, the poor girl in asda had to scan them manually. So I think this will get stuck in a drawer until summer...

..following on from this http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=455988 thread. My latent lust for a F2 was re-awoken. Dormant for decades the longing became too much..

The result..

It's in lovely condition, obviously previously owned by an enthusiast. Everything works as it should. Very happy.
Some may consider I paid too much, but once I held it there was no going back.

 Thanks to my thread, Guildford LCE is now one F2AS less!

Looks absolutely stunning.

Thanks, it really is beautiful. They have another, also owned by the same guy. I found it tough to choose. The other has the 50mm f2 lens and is fitted with flash shoe.

Yes top money, I was assured that both were serviced recently.
Go on, you know you want to...

The flash coupler is a bit cumbersome and the flash sync speed is low, not a bad choice.

Looks like I'm going down a different route!

Whilst the F3HP is my nikon of choice, that F2AS looks a beauty. Judging by the picture it looks like it has had an easy life because it looks immaculate. Looking forward to hearing about how it shoots and seeing some images from it.

That is huge. How big can it enlarge to?

A 5"x7" negative can be enlarged to 30" x 42" which is a 6x linear enlargement or a 36x enlargement of the image area. A 35mm negative can only be enlarged to a similar size (due to the edge of the projection contacting the column) but this would give a 28x linear enlargement or 840x enlargement of the image area. Yep, it's a monster!

Hasseblad 500CM, 80mm 2.8 C T*, A12 back, WLF. Hood is really rough, but my housemate is a DIY guy and reckons he can sand it down and spray it up and have it looking new and polished for £12 all in.

It's amazingly compact and light, honestly no more than any FX or pro DX camera gripped up would be, the ETRS was mahoosive in comparison and didn't sit as nice in the hand.

Even with the rough hood it looks great, I do love Hasselblads, not cheap but a lo f amera for the money! Looking forward to seeing some shots from this Swedish marvel
