Nice collection. How do you find the 28mm?
I fogged my first roll, because the rewind crank should be turned the other way (duh), so all I can tell is that it focuses correctly and it looks reasonably sharp. I don't have anything to compare though.

Here we have some new toys from me: The recently serviced LX is wearing a sporty little home made strap attachment and an ebay bargain SMC-M 50mm f1.4 (£56 delivered). On the right we have the not so bargain Ricoh XR1000S sporting XR Rikenon 50mm f1.4 which was intended to be my main 50mm but had to be replaced by the pentax as soon as it landed. In between there is the incredible bargain £12 SMC-M 28mm f2.8, daring to live with no rear cap!

All shot with the other bargain 28mm f2.8 Vivitar/Komine.

What a fantastic and varied selection of cameras. It never ceases to amaze me that there seems to be an infinite number of variations of what is still essentially a light-proof box with a hole in it!

I'm loving the Ilford Advocate, what a beautiful piece of styling. I'm pretty sure my grandfather had one but it was a long time ago, I don't remeber seeing it so I may have to ask my dad if it's still around.

That is a very good price for each of the two Pentax SMC primes for sure, especially the wide angle. How's the LX? :)

I actually missed twon auctions for 1.4s that went for less than £40 a piece! Typical! I was the only bidder on the one I did win. the 28mm has a chip in the rear element hence price, but it doesn't seem to have interfered with it's performance. (Might be just in the coating I guess).

The LX is now functioning lovely, everything's nice and smooth turning and I can actually see through the viewfinder now, christ knows what the focus screen was caked in originally!

I'd been after one for ages, more from an aesthetic perspective than anything else and I was dead chuffed to find the original receipt was with it, showing it as having been purchased new on 5th October 1953 at a cost of £28 3/2d (including £3 6/3d for the leather case).

All I need now is a box for it, that should be dead easy to find :bang::lol:

Got my Oly 35RD back from the fixers for its sticking shuttter, also picked up PS200 flash unit to go with these wee beasties:

popped into town for a filter yesterday and got distracted....

Just going to pop down to epping for a couple of hours of tree hugging and to try it out. Quite excited :)

Sounds like one of my shopping trips

Mind you, I don't even have to leave the house. I was price-checking some gear on eBay yesterday and bought an FD 135mm f2.8 lens. :$

I've got a new toy arriving later this week, something I have always coveted but have never held or even seen in the flesh before.

Is that an SQ-Ai? Looks lovely.

No, its a sq-b. All seemed to work well this afternoon although it doesnt meter and the shutter speeds seem a bit limited so god alone knows what the pictures will look like! i was using my pann lx3 to meter off.

Im due a bit of overtime next month so i might trade it back in for something a little posher :) But its lovely, i dont think i'll ever get bored of composing through that viewfinder and theres a very satisfying clunk when you fire off a frame.

Something cheap and cheerful, yet fun, from me - a DIY Plamodel camera!

A bit of fun for less than a tenner, let's see how it turns out  :cuckoo:

Dunno about you but I'm getting near saturation point (i.e. in the mind) with gear ...just didn't want to buy a Prinzflex TTL SLR with Chinon lens working perfectly for £3 or even a Pentax espio P&S for 10p at the bootie ....I'll still examine stuff for interest but only want selected prime lenses now.

I agree Brian, too much camera buying and not enough picture taking.

 Andy that reminds me:- I'm down to about 20 rolls of 35mm Fuji Reala 100 and have no 200 or 400 asa film. I bought 100 rolls of boxed superia 200 for £33 about 2-3 years back, but I don't suppose I'll be so lucky again.

Ditto, I've been thinning the herd once more and I'm trying to get it down to 1 or 2 35mm shooters, and one main medium format camera. I have more exposed rolls that need to be developed than cameras, which is hopefully the way it should always be

I'm as happy as a pig that's found a new mud bath today :D

This arrived with the post this morning. It's nearly mint as far as I can see, one or two very small marks on the outside of the filter ring but all the glass is clear, the zoom's smooth and the apertures snappy, just as they should be. Suits my T90 rather well, doesn't it.

Woohoo On Saturday I was given Free from Russell, who used to be an active member of TP

All in as new Mint condition

Awesome thread (though I didn't have the nerve to read it whole to avoid being consumed by green envy ;)).

I have nearly finished with my toys and will do some outing in October. By some pure luck I got an old Kiev-6C MF in really dreadful state (broken/missing leather, was exposed to really wet conditions so mechanics/shutter was working every 5th time etc). Spent 2 months repairing it, re-skinned, cleaned, re-tuned and adjusted the mechanics and shot a test roll on it. Works awesome. So taken with the success of this endeavour, I got another Kiev-60 (slightly different from 6C) in similar state and its nearly finished as well (only the matte screen focus adjustment left to be done). So it looks as though I now have 2 6x6 cameras taking Pentacon 6 mount lenses.

Whilst I was doing them I also managed to repair and clean a few Pentacon 6 lenses (Carl Zeiss 120mm Biometar and old soviet Vega 12B). Unlike some Nikkors I dealt with before - these were quite easy to service and cheap as well.

So all in all now have a nearly complete MF system - stocking my freezer with films and can't wait to try it all out :)

Trouble is I love all the cameras I own and don't know which ones to sacrifice....:bang:

Thats impressive, I wouldn't know where to start.

Thanks, I hadn't a clue when I started either - fortunately the simple mechanical cameras and older primes are very nicely done and easy to comprehend. If it would have any electronics on the other hand then I would be totally lost :)

Removed - incorrect forum.

Steve, firstly, welcome to the forum  secondly you've posted your digital acquisitions in the film and conventional section :nono: and thirdly, yes you're right it is time to get out and take some photos

Oops, that's using the search function and not paying attention (sounds like my school reports) . Will correct when home tonight, thanks for pointers :)

What you should do Steve is get yourself a nice Nikon F3 or something similar and then you will be more than welcome in this little backwood.
