I'm pretty taken with it to say the least...!!!

Was that the one on ebay i pointed you to? if so it really was a bargain, looks in great condition.

How much was it? [potential to break my heart]

I wanna know too... I've got some minolta fit lenses I'm gonna be getting shot of to put towards one of these beauties
EDIT: or a cheaper imitation thereof :D

Actually Ed I had won this one just the same day as you sent the link so sadly not, its in great nick and i paid £441 for it. From the serial No's its a 1981 500CM and frankly I love it. 120 film arrives tomorrow!!!

Now you will really learn the cost of having a photographic passion ;)

But I've got the T shirt too :p

I picked this up a while back. Hasselblad PME-45 prism.

PME-45 by tonky8203, on Flickr

If you've ever looked at these you'll know that nice ones got for well over £1K and even tatty ones go for 7-800 quid.

This one appeared on ebay and was immaculate. Bidding had only just started and I stuck what I thought was a no hoper bid of 700 quid on it and forgot about it. In the event at the death it just achieved 500 quid which was my bid and the reserve the guy had set. I paid up straight away and couldn't believe my luck.

I then get a message from the guy bleating that he'd dropped a gooly by setting too low a reserve on it, I responded to the effect that I was sorry to hear that, but he'd had my money and I was kind of looking foreward to receiving the prism.

The prism turned up a couple of days later, but the guy never did leave me any feedback.

Lovely Cedric, its a beauty, it is the one thing I would really like for my Blad Outfit (apart from a P65+). I regularly see the PME90 but that is not as well specified as the PME45.

As you say they do go for really silly money, now you will have to get an Acute Matte D for it (or just manually adjust the reading for the screen you have).

And I thought my T Shirt was cool.

I have the Acute Matte D Ed. It's a great bit of kit - multi metering modes as well as doing spot and incident light readings. The other nice thing is it gives a well magnified view of the screen and has dioptre adjustment in the viewfinder which is a boon for these tired old eyes.

And your T shirt is waaay cool mate - if just a bit poserish.

Avoid the PME90 Ed -you have to lift it right up to eye level to use it whereas this one sits nice and comfortably on your chest to use it. You can't swap backs either with the P90 in place - you have to remove it each time.

I've gone and done it. After 6 months hunting around town to find a decent manual film camera at a decent price, I finally did. Got it today, Nikon F3 with Nikon Series E 50mm f/1.8

nice one...

every time i think of selling my F3, I get it out to photograph for the advert

end up sitting with it in my hands -- and decide not to sell....:D

enjoy..... it's a great camera

i have just acquired a rather tatty canon A-1 from rockycameras and over the next couple of weeks it is getting fully restored by myself, new seals, new asa dial, new leatherette and cough repair :) should be fun :D

Finally won an auction on Ebay for a 28mm prime for the Minolta X-300 :D Had to go a bit over my self imposed maximum bid but after losing the last four I went for I was determined not to lose this one. Can't wait for it to come. Just in time for a trip to London for an interview :D

Good times!

Nice camera, image is a bit underexposed though,

Achh... that's what I get for processing the damned shot on my laptop. :bonk:

Now I look at it on a proper colour corrected screen, it's darker than Darth Vaders Funeral Suit!

Haven't got a bag for it, it just sits on the end of my desk, so I can toy with it in idle moments :) Lens and the internals are spotless, which is the important bit.

Well unlike my crappy gear shots, it looks like a bit of thought went into setting your camera up for a shot, and I was thinking of "to spoil the ship for a halfpennyworth of tar" ;)

To be perfectly honest Brian, A friend of mine died recently, and I was testing a photo setup to get some decent shots of his kit, to be able to sell them on for his old lady. First camera that came to hand once I'd rigged the set was the Bronny. Sorry it wasn't up to scratch, but part of my mind was elsewhere :(

When did we start critiquing gear shots, somebody posts a ****** iphone gear pic, with more noise in it than Black Sabbaths concert amp, and nobody bats an eyelid.....

It's not noise, it's a feature.. ..

Haven't you seen the new TP rules:- The mod team now have to set a high standard for others to follow.

Had a funny old evening on the bay, won a ME Super no lens for £10.51, then won another ME Super with a Pentax 50mm f2 for £16 and then won a Spotmatic Sp (no lens) for £11.51.

Its not worth thinking about how much this lot would have cost 30 years ago.

Now, lets start looking for a nice 50mm M42 fit. Might pick that up in Hong Kong.

Brian - if there had ever been a "quality of photography" requirement for the Mod Team, I seriously doubt that I'd ever, ever, EVER have been asked.

Actually, I've said it before, and I'll happily repeat it. Any shots I post on here, unless they're obvious technical illustration jobs, are fair game for comments and crit. Even if I post in here rather than the C&C section. Why? because you lot are much better photographers than I am, and I want to learn and improve I guess. :)

crappy phone pic for ya:

My 'new' Cambo 4x5 monorail and supporting stuff

With all the rubbish laid about in that room you are going to trip and fall over, thereby wrecking that beautiful large format gear. Send it to me to be looked after, and I will post it back when you have tidied up.

glad I put it down on the 'tidy side' of the room to take the photo :p

LOL, My dining room looks worse than that with camera stuff everywhere.

No tidy side to my room at the moment, so had to take the new toy outside...

My first time to use film, not entirely sure how it works currently. As soon as I figure out where the batteries go, I should be up and running.:)

edit: Should have said what it is - a Chamonix 045n-2 and Schneider SA 72mm XL

Thats stunning, what lens?

It sure is, don't feel I deserve to use it yet. The lens is a 2nd/3rd hand Schneider Super Angulon 72mm XL, needs to be a lot closer to the ground glass than in the photo - will probably get a recessed lens board for it.

Rod, Whats the weather like at the moment, I understand they are giving thunderstorms for Thursday.
