My Auto 110 came with a set so I've no need for them thanks. It is relatively simple to use though.

:D agfa record II, takes 6x9's. shot a roll of velvia, BW, and portra 160 so far :p just waiting for them to get dev'd
Fully manual camera though. guess exposure, guess focusing, cock the shutter, shoot, wind the film. For speed of use, I'd say a frame a minute, if you're quick :p I've got a rangefinder on the way though

Ignore the godawful tripod :p

Ever lusted for a Minolta Dynax 9 ? I have for about 10 years. Finally got one today, for £171.00 in mint condition, Oh, yes, and that price also includes the VC-9 grip. I think my trousers are damp now.:lol::D
 
Yes, Starastin, I could not believe my luck. I thought my highest bid would have been trumped at the post, but it was not. It should be here tomorrow. I will tuck it up in the Minolta cot, let it have a good sleep after its journey, then load it up and take it for some exercise.:clap:
Mind the trouble begins when it is delivered, unless I give the wife £10 to go out and buy herself some clothing.:lol:

Just acquired an Olympus 35 RD. In good cosmetic condition but got the curse of the sticky shutter and aperture blades so I passed it on to a local repairman to sort out.
 
I'm going to have to admit that it's been spending too much time on my Panasonic G2 than anything else since it arrived yesterday, but I now have a Canon FD 35mm f/2 SSC (the f/16 version with a concave front element, but not Thorium glass).

Based on the showing it's made on digital, it's my new favourite lens, just got to try to find some time to use it with a film body in the next couple of days...
 
Well I've just aquired amotley collection of stuff from the bay, a cheapy M42 to Pentax K adaptor, lets face it evryone needs some M42 glass don't they? Plus a bit of a wildcard, Minolta Rokkor 45mm F2, plan is to marry it with superglue to an old MD - 4/3 adapter I have and use it as either a Macro lens on extension tubes or a pretty fast portrait/short tele on the GH1.

Can you get adapters to fit Minolta lenses on Pentax K or Olympus OM? Probably not I guess.
 
My EOS-3 died yesterday, shutter has packed up (so if anyone has a eos-3 with good shutter but dead other stuff let me know) but the rest works. So I wanted a replacement, so perfect excuse for an upgrade, I am collecting a very low usage EOS-1v tomorrow :)
 
Got a Ef 28-105 3.5-4.5 Usm lens tuesday. Lovely lens, and so much better then my kit lens, looking for a decent Film camera now to put it on for my holiday :)

It's a nice combo of focal lengths on a 35mm camera, and handles really nicely with something like a EOS-30. Until I got the 24-105L it was my go-to lens for the EOS-3, but it certainly works very nicely, and feels a world apart from the kit lenses in terms of build quality.

I have the 33 as my main camera , but unfortunately just the kit lens. looking forward getting the 50mm f1.4 or something similar , although I have 2 very nice m42 lenses .
 
keep meaning to sell my EF 28-105 f3.5-4.5, problem is I put it on the camera to do some test shots and think its such a nice lens I don't want rid of it :) I'm almost tempted to move my sigma 24-70 on instead.
 
Bargain for the collectors at the bootie today:- Camera bag full of Kodak Retina III gear including WA and Rodenstock lens (something like in the link) filters etc all lenses in containers....price £35 (I would have offered £25 and met at £30 or gone to £35 if he didn't budge)

I've had both 28-105mm canons, sigma and tamron . mu suggestion - sell the sigma and canon and get the tammy. It's just better in IQ and in weight terms - sits between canon and sigma .

Don't pish about - buy the new EOS-1v something that Lives up to the bodys build quality (and keep the 28-105 for when you want something a little lighter than the 24-70 f2.8 or the 24-105 f4.0 :lol:)

Well I never, managed the impossible today - won an ebay auction for a Vivitar 24mm F2 Close Focus in Olympus OM mount for the princely sum of £65. Not as pricey as I expected!

Can't wait for it to arrive as it will double up nicely as a fastish MF normal lens for the GH1 too.

EDIT: Not dure if it is actually close focus version, will see when it arrives!

I know, the iv is here and its a minter, previous owner bought it cos he had always wanted one but had a digital too and just didn't use it... the film counter is showing 10 rolls through it :)

I bought the siggy 24-70 f2.8 as the L was just too pricey (and we didn't get xmas bonuses this year :() I'm not really feeling the love with it though, its nice, but I really miss the USM full time MF focusing ring. I plan on getting the 70-200 f4L next I may well trade the siggy for the 12-24 ultra wide then hunt down a nice 50mm prime.

On Friday the postman brought me a nice present - an Olympus OM 16mm fisheye lens. In perfect condition, proper caps and a very reasonable price - just £150! It's really small - only about the same size as the 50mm prime on my OM4Ti - and is the star of my OM lens array.
 
Lovely new toy, Bill, and pretty much the only Canon film body I'd consider trading my EOS-3 for. Though, in fairness, i'd only be interested in it for the film logging capabilities and the ES-E1 software link to get something approaching EXIF's for my film shots. I've found the EOS-3 to be weatherproof enough for my needs - anything where I'm worrying about the camera, I'm already packed up and making my way off the hill and to a pub :lol:
 
Yep, I've got a copy of the ES-E1 link software but the tricky bit is the cable. I'm sure it cannot be that complex, I reckon its a simple serial convertor chip in there and not much else, but without one to play with I can't try and clone it. I was looking for a straight EOS-3 as a replacement but this was about another £60 and fairly local/easy to get so I thought why not. The killer blow was the owner saying he only thinks it has had a dozen or so films through it, the counter suggests 10 and the last of those was still in it with only 18 frames shot!! Its a bit more subtle in use than the 3 which is nice, the shutter doesnt sound like a gunshot :)

Might have a bash at fixing the shutter in the 3 this week :)
 
I thought it was the same shutter in the 1v and the 3 tbh... though it may well be the 1v's mag alloy body thats damping down the mirror slap which I think is is the main noise...:thinking:

If you can reverse engineer the cable for transferring data, I think you may be onto a bit of an earner :thumbs:
 
different shutter IIRC the 1v is good for 50,000 more actuations. If I can get a cable to reverse engineer I'll definitely have a go.

I've been looking for an Eos-3 to complete my kit, but unfortunately I cant find one for a decent price that's not been used a lot, i know its a hard thing to find as its an old good camera. I did go to see a guy who had one for £50,but when I used it, It the light meter wasn't working, and the shutter speed wouldn't go any higher then 1/15th. He tried to tempt me by knocking of £5 but i dont want to payout to get it fixed when it was advertised "near mint" But i might look at an Eos-30, heard there not bad :)
 
Well the 24mm F2 is here, too good to be true, the Iris is slower than a Sloth on a Sunday, so it's going straight back. Now to find another one. :bang:
 
surely its worth cleaning if its just slow iris blades? are they that tricky to find though?

+1 . I would bet that it's an old and rare lens.
but on the other hand - seek and you shall find ! :D

if it's not as described I would seek some service monies from the seller.
 
There is an Olympus OM 24mm advertised in the classified section of Amateur Photographer this week along with several other Olympus OM lenses. It doesn't say their speed or what condition their in except for 'all under £100', so it'll be either the 24mm f2 or 2.8 version. It wouldn't hurt to give the seller a ring for more information. I'll post a scan of the advert later.
 
Very rare lens, and this one was optically and cosmetically perfect, just the iris. Been refunded now.

It's beyond my eyesight and patience to dismantle, I already had ago at the 24mm f2.8 I originally had and made a mess of that so I don't want to naff up a better, rarer 10x more expensive lens!

I've been refunded anyway so I'm not out of pocket - just being teased by the gods now!

Tell you what though it would make an excellent paperweight, weighs a ton! Think I might just stick to f2.8 close focus for the next one.

I had a pentax lens cleaned and de-fungused by a guy in scotland for £32 IIRC, this included cleaning the iris blades, came back perfect. The lens was bought of ebay and the seller refunded £30 toward the repair from the original sale.
 
Canon SX20 is £150, perfect nick hardly used, only thing missing is the lens cap. Have ordered new one for $8, will sell for profit and buy a nice new nikon lens when it gets here :D

Pentax lenses are easier to dismantle, I've been researching! There was even a lovely how to guide with plenty of pics but it's just a job that's beyond me, so it's now well on it's way back to where it came from!

I've found a pair of 19mm primes, 1 for pentax 1 for OM! I thin kI'll try for them instead and get shot of the big zoom.

I've fixed the broken shutter but getting it back into one piece is proving a challenge, guess I should have slowed down and taken notes/pictures/more care :)
